Dne Hundred at Community Meeting in Courthouse Service Men Talk. EATON, O., Aug. 5. Less than one lundred persons attended the county Doramunlty conference here Monday after noon In the public assembly room in the court house. The threshing season and other farm activities 3oubtles3 kept many away. It is said there were no local county returned soldiers present at the meeting, which had been previously announced as a part of the after-war reconstruction program, similar conferences bing held throughout the state, in the various counties. The seeming small interest In the local conference was not due to lack
of work In its interest, as Alfred W. McBriar. of Cincinnati, a Y. M. C. A. demobilization secretary, had for some time diligently canvassed the county to arouse interest and to make arrangements for the conference. F. E. Wettstein, of Cincinnati, a Y. M. C. A. demobilization secretary, In announcing the objects of the meeting in an address before the assemblage, said It was not a Y. M. C. A. affair, but a conference to promote community Interest in all directions. The conference opened with singing of war songs by the audience and an adres of welcome by Mayor Harry L. Itlsinger. of Eaton, Lieut. F. F. Patton, of Cincinnati, of a machine gun battalion, that saw service overseas, recounted his experiences; also the conflict in general, as he saw it. County school superintendent W. S. Fogarty, of Eaton, presided at the conference. Oil Cmpany Buys Ground. In order to place it in a position to better compete with other companies In the lubricating oil traffic the White etar Oil company of Eaton, has purchased one and one-half acres of ground on the New Paris Pike, opposite the city waterworks pumping sta
tion, upon which It will erect two brick buildings, and six oil tanks for storage purposes. The ground was purchased from Jesse Flory and includes the old Moses Nelson home now occupied by Simeon and John Minni. Wxork will be started at once. The White Star company is a strictly local concern, with main offices here. It operates branches at Middletown, Germantown, Camden, Greenville and other points. Charles Freeh, of Eaton, is manager, secretary, and treasurer of the company, and Ross Fonht, of Eaton. Is a director and stockholder. Henry Stelek of Indianapolis, is president. The company sprung from the Pure Oil company, which was established here by Otto Mikesell, who began operations in a small way. Freeh and Focht, brothers-in-law of Mikesell, became interested in the company about five years ago, when Mikesell withdrew from the company, and the name of the company was changed to the White Star Oil company. It is a competitor of the Standard Oil company in the territory in which it operates. Held for Assault. Glen Ridenour, residing southeast of West Alexandria, In the vicinity of Gratis, is held to the grand jury und $200, upon an assault charge filed against him by Ernest Kabler. Ridenour was bound over here Monday from the court of Justice L. T. Stephen. It was the first case entered In the criminal docket by County Clerk of the Courts V. O. Rooksiool, who took his office Monday. Clerk Receives Petition. Clerk of the Courts V. O. Rookstool,
who entered Monday upon his official
duties, received his first petition for
filing in the civil oppearance docket, a partition suit. The action was filed by R. C. Hamilton soon after Clerk Rookstool took up his official duties.
Hamilton seeks partition of lot 273 in the village, of Camden, he claiming a ono-thlrd interest as a son and heir-
nt-law of the late Sarah Hamilton.
Clara Anderson and others are named
defendants to the suit. Vote on School Levy.
Gratis village school district and
Lanier township school district will
take advantage of the provision of the new school law privileging voting on a two-mill tax levy, outside th9 Smith law, for school purposes. The districts will vote on the proposition at the primary August 12. Ballots Are Ordered. Five hundred Democrat ballots, five hundred Republican ballots and 1,200 board of education ballots will be required to conduct the primary In Eaton, August 12. Contract for printing the ballots has been awarded by the election board to the RegisterHerald, local printory. As the school district embraces territory outside the city, more ballots are required for the election of school board members.

Two cars of grain were shipped
from the Centerville grain elevator
Monday, which eases the situation there somewhat. It is thought there will be room for more grain Tuesday.
The elevator has been tied up for
sometime, but there are now 17,000 bushels on hand and the elevator has a capacity of 20.000.
Although there has been difficulty ,
in getting cars at the elevator at
Lyonsville, east of Connersville, the elevator has not yet been filled to its capacity, which is 5,000 bushels. There are now 2,000 bushels on hand.
Cambridge City can receive no more
grain until cars are obtained. There the 18,500 bushels of grain stored
in the elevator.

SEYMOUR MAN IS HIGHLYENTHUSED "I Simply Feel Fine, Since Taking Trutona," Cox Gratefully Avers. Seymour, Ind., Aug. 5th. Ernest G.
Cox, 416 Carter street, an employe of the Seymour Furniture Mfg. company. In describing his experience with Trutona. the perfect tonic, says: "For more than a year I have suffered from liver and kidney troubles. Indigestion has bothered me for the past four months. Severe pains in my back and sides prevented me from sleeping soundly at night, causing mo
to awaken often. It seemed that I couldn't eat much of any thing without having to suffer severe pains in my stomach. I felt tired and draggy all the time and just had to force myself to work. "Well, sir, the first meal I've actually enjoyed in the past four months, I ate last Sunday. And it is also the first time In that period that I haven't suffered from the after effects of eating. The pains in my sides and back have entirely disappeared and I sleep soundly the whole night through now. I'd tried a good many medicines, but it wasn't until I'd taken Trutona that I got relief I needed. I simply feel fine now." Trutona is now being introduced and explained in Richmond at Thistlethwaite's drug stores. Adv.
