FIRE THREATENS KENTUCKY TOWN LOUISV .LE, Ky.. July 22 The business section of Marion, Ky., was wiped out by fire which started at 2 o clock this morning. Damage estimated at $100,000 was done by 3:30 o'clock. At that time the whole ton was threatened with destruction. Evansville, Ind., was called on for aid. German Protestants Appeal for Wilhelm (By Associated Press) PARIS, Monday, July 21 A letter addressed to President Poincare by the Protestant community of Berlin, asking "democratic France to right its wrongs toward the Huguenots driven from France in 1685 by sparing their benefactors, the Hohenzollerns," is published today by the Temps in a Berlin dispatch. This reparation, the letter says, would be a way in which France might "testify her gratitude for the protection accorded the twenty thousand French Huguenots who were sheltered by the Electorate of Brandenburg." July 22 The congestion on Chilean railroads has caused the government to adopt a general pelicy of prohibiting the exportation of foodstuffs, especially as traffic conditions on the lines are such as to prove a serious drawback in moving the harvests.
