BIO CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN EATONJUGUST 2 Demobilization Work is Feature Soldier Boys Entertained at Private Banquet. u EATON, O., July 17 Arrangements are being made for a mammoth community conference to be held In Eaton Saturday afternoon and evening, August 2.

Albert W. McBrlar, of Cincinnati, a

demobilization secretary, is visiting towns In Preble county this week In the Interest of the coming conference. Representatives from each township and community In the county will be

represented at the conference. A

program will be arranged and announced at a later date. These community conferences are being held In. the various counties In Ohio and are a part of tbe demobilization and reconstruction work Incident to the close of the war and return of the soldiers. One of the features of the local conference, announced at this time, will be a county-wide welcome to returned soldier boys. After Delinquent Taxee All taxes in Preble county not paid on or before next Saturday, July 19, will be certified to the county auditor as delinquent, according to a public notice .'esued by County Treasurer LeRoy McNeal. Time limit for payment of taxes was extended by the county commissioners from June 20 to July 20, as has been the custom the last few years. Twelve local soldier boys returned from overseas service were guests Tuesday evening of Stanley Brower and William Paddack, at a dinner served in the private dining room of the Acton restaurant. While the guests dined an orchestra played. Mayor Harry L. Rislnger was a guest at the dinner and delivered an address of welcome. Each of the soldier guests responded to the toast: "My Experience In France." George Churchill was toastmaster. The "eats" Included fried spring chicken, with the usual trimmln's. The soldier guests were: Charles Thum. Fred Clear, Charles Clear, Roy Lounsbury, Fred Pugh, Clarence Kehr, Russell Dalrymple, McDonald Bishop, Charles Harshman, Brlce Webb, Lester Armstrong and Russell Deem. Other guests were Chief of Police Willard Armstrong. Patrolman Charles Clear and Campbell Filbert. Several soldier boys, invited to attend the dinner, were unable to be present. Stanley Sehwartzrauber, son of Mr. and Mrs Peter Schwarztrauber, of Eaton, will teach Smith-Hughes vocational agricultural courses in the school at West Milton, O., the next school term. Schwarztrauber Is at Ohio State university taking a postgraduate course. Family Reunions Scheduled. Fifteen family reunions are scheduled for tbe county fairgrounds during July, August and early September. The reunions and dates are: Cook and Bunfer, Thursday, July 24. Focht, Saturday, August 2. Hapner, Saturday, August 2. Hendricks, Friday, August 8. Ashworth, Frldy, August 8. Copp, Wednesday, August 13. Holman-Wehrley, Monday, August 11. Glander, Tuesday, August 12. Geeding. Wednesday, August 13. Brower. Thursday. August 14. Miles, Saturday, August 16. Etter, Saturday, August 16. Roberts, Wednesday, August 20. Mlkesell, Monday, September 1. Oift, Monday, September 1.

LIBERTY, Ind.. July 17. BTereit Flint. IS year old. cut the throat of Edward Dalrymple with - a pocket knife, Tuesday afternoon,, causing a serious wound that barely escaped being fatal. The two men were working

together with a threshing outfit on the farm of Edward Taylor in the

southwestern part of the county.

The attack was tbe result of a Quarrel which started when the men of the threshing outfit resting during a rain. They started throwing corn cobs at each other, it is eald, and Dalrymple hit Flint. Tbe younger man grew angry and In the quarrel which

followed drew his knife and slashed Dalrymple. Several stitches were required to close the wound, which would have proved fatal, physicians

said, had it been one-sixteenth of an inch deeper. Flint is said to be mentally unsound. Dalrymple Is married.
