WAGNER'S GRAIN LETTER CHICAGO, July 15. Grain market Is effected by general Kansas rains and slow cash demand, break of ten to twenty-five cents in hogs, and nice rains In Kansas and most of the belt. Labor trouble overhangs eastern shipping situation and European freights average high, apparently forty to fifty cents per bushel. Recent bulls show disposition to rest and bulges may not be permanent over night. Corn crop looks 87 per cent with promise of 2.9400 to 2,980 million. Continued bearish pressure Is considered unlikely. Late reports say one-half million oats have been taken for export. CHICAGO GRAIN RANGE Furnished by E. W. DR. CHURCHELL WAS

HOSPITAL INSPECTOR

An astonishingly low rate of mortality among the American wounded and gassed patients from the battle fields of France was evident in the great Kerhoun hospital center of France, which Major E. R. Churchell, returned Richmond physician-surgeon, inspected from the middle of June, 1918, until the first of the following December. In discussing the mammoth work carried on in this center Major Churchell, who arived at his home in Richmond a few days ago, said that from June to December the estimate was 60,000 patients, very few of whom died, although many were seriously wounded. During his eight months of service in France Major Churchell was promoted from captain to major and also to the Important position of inspector for the Kerhoun center. He has resumed his medical practice in Richmond.

Walls Undergoes Operation; Still Suffering From Gas Roland Walls, of 426 Southwest Second street, underwent an operation and the removal of a rib at Reid Memorial hospital Tuesday morning as a result of the effects of mustard gas, which he suffered on the western front in France.
