TAKE-ALL WHEAT MAY BE BURNED;

Quarantine Threat Made by Government Against Dreaded Scourge in Fields. INDIANAPOLIS. IND.. July 10. Governor Goodrich has announced that he would call upon the Legislature at the special session contemplated for the first week in September to appropriate funds to indemnify the farmers of the state whose wheat will be destroyed in an effort to stamp out the Australian "take-all," a destructive fungus growth that has been discovered in the fields of Tippecanoe, Porter and Laporte Counties. Acting under the threat from the Federal government that a quarantine may be established on Indiana grain because of the presence of the "takeall." the Governor instructed Frank N. Wallace, entomologist in the state conservation department, to take any steps necessary to wipe out the disease. The Governor asserts that if It was found necessary to burn the infected wheat, under a, provision. of the conservation law passed by the 1919 Legislature, he would support the department in its course and would see to it that the farmers are paid for the destroyed crop.' It was learned that most of the wheat in which the infection has been
discovered has been cut. In such cases the grain in the entire field ia infected. From the reports received by the Governor It seems that the "taJie-aH" was found only in small portions of the fields. The passing of the reaper over the infected part carried over the en-tir-field, it is said. Special effort will be made to prevent any of the infected crop from getting to elevators. This would not only damage the grain in the elevator and render it worthless for interstate shipment, but would necessitate the thoro gli fumigation of the building before new grain could be admitted. Quarantine Threatened The fact that Indiana fields were infected with the "take-all" was first brought to the attention of the state officials when a telegram was received from the Washington office of the Federal horticultural board, stating that the secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture had been appraised of the presence of the disease in Indiana. The telegram was received by the state conservation department. It gave notice that the Federal board would conduct a hearing next Tuesday to determine whether a quarantine would be established on Indiana wheat, barley and rye.

OXFORD, O Electrical Engineer Fred H. Froehlich of Toledo, recently employed by the village, last night recommended .that the municipal light plant be sold to the Mlddletown Gas and Electric company, at Its bid tf 535,000, and that the money be used for the purpose of rehabilitating and
electrifying the waterworks. Mr. Froehlich said that the local plant was losing about $5,000 a year, and would continue to lose that amount, if not more. In the matter of the purchase of current, should the village decide to keep the plant, the engineer recommended the purchase of Mlddletown current, declaring that the rates offered were better than those offered by Robert S. ABhe, of the Liberty Light and Power company, Richmond, Ind., and that the service would be better. Council probably will take action upon the recommendation this evening. Deep Seated Uric Acid Deposits Are Dissolved and the Rheumatic Poison Starts to Leave the System Within Twenty-four hours. ve ry druggist in this county is authorized to say to every rheumatic sufferer In this vicinity that if two bottles of Allenrhu, the sure conquerer of rheumatism, does not stop all agony, reduce swollen Joints and do away with even the slightest twinge of rheumatic pain, he will gladly return your money without comment. Allenrhu has been tried and tested for years, and really marvelous results have been accomplished in the most severe cases where the suffering and agony was intense and piteous and where the patient was helpless. Allenrhu relieves at once. Immediately after you start to take it the good work begins. It searches out the uric acid deposits, dissolves the secretions and drives rheumatic poison out of the body through the kidneys and bowels. It's marvelous how quickly it acts. Blessed relief often comes in two days, and even in cases where the suffering is most painful all traces disappear In a few days. Mr. James A. Allen, the discoverer of Allenrhu. who for many years suffered the torments of acute rheumatism, desires all sufferers to know that he
