Exactly 19,650 persons paid their way into tbe Bayviow Park arena on July 4, to see the heavyweight champion bout between Jess Willard and Jack Dempsey. Official fieures as to attendance and recepts were announced today by Frank B. Flournoy, Rickard s associate iu the venture. The receipts after the government tax of $41,789.94 had been deducted, Z were $410,732.16. The 7 per cent chanty fund for tne city of Toledo was slightly under $30,000. There were 292 policemen in the stadium, seventy-five firemen, 600 ushrr, ninpty ticket takers, twenty ticket tilers and 454 press representatives. The principal expenses of the promoters were as follows: Willard, $100,000; Dempsey, $27,500; prena construction, $150,000; city of Toledo charity fund, $30,000; total, $307,500. Other charges probably will mako the cost approximately $325,000, leaving the promoters' profits somewhat below $100,000, Mr. Flournoy said. The arena was constructed to seat 97,000. Flournay announced this afternoon that it had been sold to the American House Wrecking company of Chicago for $25,000, being disposed of to the highest bidder. There is nearly 2,000,000 feet of lumber in the plant. Work of tearing it down will begin at once, it was said. t - hard(A - txm -

GHANOS WINS FROM CHICAGO WRESTLER Jimmie Chanos, local lightweight wrestler, added another victory to bis list when he defeated Sam Davis of Chicago, in one fall of a scheduled three-round go at the Airdome Wednesday night. Chanos pinned his opponent to the mat with a toe-hold, after 51 minutes of hard wrestling. Davis refused to work for the second fall, claiming that he was injured in the first fall of the bout, and Chanos won the purse. Thursday night Chanos will wrestle Russell Zook at Cambridge City. In the preliminaries of Wednesday's bout, the "Masked Wonder" refused to go more than one round, on the plea that he was ill. Ask Your Neighbor It has been said that there is now hardly a city, town or village in this country wherein some woman does not reside who has found health in that good, old-fashioned remedy, Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound. Therefore, if you are suffering from some ailmpnt, and hardly know what to do for it, and have tried other remedies without help, ask your neighbor if she has ever used Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound. If she herself has never had the need for it. undoubtedly she knows others who were just in your condition and who have been restored to health by its use. Adv.

SALLEE, BACKED BY GOOD SUPPORT, PUTS
KIBOSH ON BRAVES BOSTON. Mass., July 10. Southpaw Slim Salee held the Braves Wednesday afternoon, and the Reds step ped one game nearer the Giants, by a 3 to 1 score. While the Reds were winning, the Giants lost. Sallee had little stuff on the ball, but depended largely on the perfect support given him by his team mates, who took everything the Braves had in sight, and finally clinched the game in the ninth, when Rousch made a long running catch of Tragressor's wicked drive. The work of Groh and Kopf was also a bright light in the Red contest, the two veterans keeping their territory clean from hits. Kopf's throwing I to first was delightful to the eye of ; the fan, because he cut short several j runners at the first corner, i Innings R. H. E. Cincinnati 000 210 0003 8 0 Boston 000 000 0101 8 2 ! Take plain bltrr-phosphate" is excellent advice to thin, delicate, nervous people who lack vim, energy and nerve force, and and there seems to be ample proof of thi efficacy of this preparation to warrant the recommendation. Moreover, if we jud?e from the countless preparations and treatments which are continually being- advertised for the purpose of making thin people fleshy, developing arms, neck and bust, and replacing usly hollows ind angles by the soft curved lines of health and beauty, there are evidently thousands of men and women who keenly feel their excessive thinness. Thinness and weakness are often due to starved nerves. Our bodies need more phosphate than is contained in modern foods. Physicians claim there is nothing that will supply this deficiency so well as the organic phosphate known among: druggists as bltrophosphate. which is Inexpensive and is sold by Conkey Drug Co. The only difference is, you get lots more in the La Fendrich for your money because it is made in the big Fendrich factory where millions of other cigars are made, thus avoiding a direct overhead cost. You see, the La Fendrich plant biggest in the world under one roof keeps its own ex

Manager Twigg, of the Slims, has a big surprise in store for his opponents, and declared Thursday morning that he would probably have two or three full teams ready to go into the contest, as his players would go at such speed that their endurance would be short. The name of the umpire for the contest has been kept secret, and will not be divulged until the teams are on the field, in position to play.
