WASHINGTON Madge Kennedy should look to her bridal laurels. The piquant Goldwyn star has become an adept at marching to the Mendelssohn strain, so often have her Goldwyn scenarios required her to take the vow to "love, honor and obey." In "The Stronger Vow," newest of Geraldlne Farrar's Goldwyn

pictures, the famous diva poaches on Madge Kennedy's preserves and does a little marrying on her own account.

Dolores de Cordova (Geraldlne Far rar), a Spanish girl, acquires a noble

man for a husband, the Marquis de

valera, whom Bhe meets while scour lng Paris In search of Juan Estudillo

to avenge the murder of her brother

in Spain, where are laid the opening

scenes of "The Stronger Vow," which

is shown at the Washington theatre

the last times today

The wedding proves a brilliant event, with Dolores enjoying the fir3t ray of sunshine that has come Into

her life. Hundreds of Praisians, in

eluding members of many aristocratic families, are there to do honor to the

Marquis and his beautiful bride. But

before the great day ends and while

she is still in her beautiful wedding gown, tragedy again lays its heavy hand upon her, word having come to

Dolores that the man she has married was Juan Estudillo before he was made a Marquis that she is the bride of the man she has taken the blood vow to kill. MURRAY Albert Ray, who is the star in the William Fox comedy drama, "Married

in Haste, Knows how to speak sixteen sentences in Spanish no more; and no less. These sixteen sentences he was compelled to learn so that he could register speaking in Spanish, p.nd not in English, in certain scenes in the play. In "Married in Haste" he is supposed to understand Spanish, so that he can interpret a Spanish cocoanut king in a business proposition to a board of directors who want to buy the cocoanut king's crop. He does it so well that he makes a fortune and wins high esteem in the eyes of his young wife. When these scenes were being made Ray naturally made a queer jumble of the Spanish sentences until a visitor who understood Spanish told him he Bhould be more careful, because his IranRDOsitinns PvnrMSPil cenHmento

that differed greatly from what he was trying to say. In one breath he called the board of directors kings and in the next he called them beasts. So Mr. Ray sat down that night, and the next morning had the sentences letter perfect. "Married in Haste" is coming to the Murray theatre Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

To Have Perfect Skin Throughout the Summer

This is the season when she who would have a lily-white complexion should turn her thoughts to mercolized wax, the firm friend of the summer girl. Nothing so effectually overcomes the soiling effects of sun, wind, c'.ust and dirt. The wax literally absorbs the scorched, discolored, wither

ed or coarsened scarf skin, bringing forth a brand new skin, clear, soft and girlishly beautiful. It also unclogs the pores, removing blackheads and increasing the skin's breathing capacity. An ounce of mercolized wax, obtainable at any drug store, applied nightly like cold cream, and washed off mornings, will gradually improve even the worst complexion. There is nothing better for the removal of tan, freckles or blotches. Adv.
