Dirongs Cheer Young "President of Irish Republic" Mystery Veils Movements. (By Asaoclated Preai) NEW YORK, June 24. Eamon De Valera. "President of the Irish Republic," late Monday emerged from the cloud of mystery that has veiled hla movements since hia arrival in the United States. A crowd that filled the corridors of

a down-town hotel let out a cheer a3 a tall, bronzed, smooth-shaven man stepped from an automobile and made his way into the hotel, preceded by Justice D. F. Cohalon and John Devoy, one carrying the flag of the Irish Republic and the other the Stars and Stripee. Shouts of "Hurrah for De Valera!" and "Long live Ireland!" greeted the men as they entered the crowded corridors, and one aged woman threw her arms around De Velera'a neck and kissed him as he came up the steps. A flying wedge, formed by members of the Reception Committee of the Friends of Irish Freedom, experienced difficulty in forcing a passage through the throng of enthusiasts. A small army of reporters and photographers gathered to meet Dr. Valera In the state apartment of the hotel which is reserved for heads of nations and was occupied last by Woodrow Wilson.
