ARLIlEl FIELD STARS ENTERED IN STATE MEET Locals to be String Contestants in Indiana State College - Track Meet Saturday. It is generally conceded among In- - diana colleges that Earlham college will present the most formidable field team to compete In the Indiana state college track and field meet Saturday, at CrawfordsvlUe. Everything Is ready for one of the biggest meets of this kind and according to Wabash college officials It bids fair to be a great success. Among ; the ' other colleges .which will have strong, point men entered are Notre Dame, Indiana. Purdue, Wabash and Franklin. Beck, of Wabash, is being touted as a possible winner of high hurdles and dash .events. Notre Dame and Indiana are doped as winners of the great Hoosier athletic ; after-war ' contest, ' as both schools -have an abundance ol high point men. 440 Run to Be Thriller. The 440 yard run promises to be one of the best thrillers of the afternoon. Scallon of Notre Dame leads in favor of this event, with followers of Manly of Wabash. Mason of De-

Pauw. Cambell of Franklin. Briggs of Indiana, backing them for close favorites. " Carey who carried the pole vault event for Earlham at the I. C. A. L. meet will have to extend himself to the limit as he will meet two ol the best men In the state Saturday in Powers and Rademaker of : Notre Dame. ." All ' the larger colleges will push the Earlham field men to the limit and Wabash dopesters are predicting -a complete- ehutout for the Quakers on the strength of the teams that the other colleges will place in the field. r Earlham has never had to compete In a field meet this year where at any time, the heavy events were endangred. Four places will be counted in this meet, five for first place, three for second, two for third and one for fourth. League Standings NATIONAL LEAGUE

MORE TEAMS WANT TO ; ENTER NEW EEAGUE Baseball is everyone's game. 1 Since the organization of the ComNnercial league comprising six office teams, several other plants have bob bed up with the question whether they can be admitted. Progress Hat will probably have a team. Webb-Coleman did consider the possibility of placing a team and there are several others that will want to enter in the league. In case there are enough teams desiring to .play ball aftr business hours this summer, it is probable that a new league will be -organized or that new teams will be admitted to the present Commercisl 1&tig The Commercial league was organized with the interest of all who wished baseball as recreation in view and It is safe to say that a few more teams
