CITY WILL HELP PAY . FOR OILING STREETS Announcement was made by City Engineer Del Davis, Monday morning that the city this summer would pay one-third the costof oiling any street for w.nich the residents will pay the other two-thirds. Before this year, the cost of oiling streets has been borne wholly by the property-owners. The oiling may be obtained by ap

plication to the city street depart meat, which will do the whole job, and charge each property owners on opposite sides one-third of the cost This wj J be about 5 or 6 cents a lineal foot for the frontage of the property, said tho engineer. The engineers department has decided that the oiling of streets In this way will be cheaper than to pay higher sum for their maintenance necessary when they are not oiled. With Local Y. M. C. A. Secretary Carlander of the Young Men's Christian association issued a request Monday, asking that all people having rooms for rent list their rooms at the Y. M. C. A. This request was issued after It was ascertained from Ralph Johnson, office secretary that the Y. M. C. A. received about four calls daily from service men and others asking for rooms which the association could not furnish. The dormitory at the Y. M. C. A. is occupied most of the time and it is hard for young men to locate in the Y. M. C. A. So in order to aid them in finding rooms, Carlander requests that all people having rooms to rent, telephone the Y. M. C.
