GRAIN QUOTATIONS

E. W. WAGNER & Co.'S REVIEW CHICAGO, May 16. The corn market was affected by slow cash demand and signs of progress in plant lng and plans to handle new -wheat. Forecast is for fair weather. The news'cf yesterday opposed the Idea for cheaper wheat. The trail side has lost the effect of late planting ideas. Large oats sales cot verified as to amount but appear to be large in last two days. Lightness of May corn appears to hold the latter months.

SECOND TRY

(Continued from Page One) the flight of the NC-4 from Halifax to Trepasey Bay had left the machinery of that craft in such condition that she could not be in readiness should the start be made late today.

The breaking away from her moor

ings -at Trepassey Bay yesterday of the dirigible C-5 and subsequent damage when the big blimp was blown

far out to sea, has effectually ter

ruinated the plan to send that craft across the ocean. The splendid per

formance of the dirigible on her long flight from Montauk Point, to Newfoundland had elated navy men and they were confident she safely and successfully could complete the voyage to England. Therefore, the mishap which resulted in her elimina

tion brought keen disappointment.

Early today the navy department

still was without official advice as ti the final fate of the big airship and word from the destroyer Edwards, the

searching ship, was eagerly awaited.
