They were thirsty and bitterly disappointed. They hailed the reporter on North E street a few rods west, of the Pennsylvania station, Friday morning.

Say irlena, wnere s iae nenreoi galoon?" they asked. The reporter broke the sad news to them as gently as he could, but informed them that they could get a drink when they got to Dayton. "Dayton, h 1,' 'they said in unison; "we Just came from Dayton." : "Then." said the reporter, "your next chance is in Illinois, about 250 miles away." Bitter and blasphemous expressions, used in the array, but not "vogue" in civil life, filled the air, and they sadly wended their way back to the station. '

Runaway Boys Are Located In West Virginia Claude Way and Frank Taylor, who disappeared from their homes Tuesay have been located at Parkersburg, West Va., according to a telegram received at police station Friday afternoon. The boyB are being held there and the police at Richmond sent a telegram to put them on a train and send them to Richmond.

Most of the things we need today would not be considered too high Jf they had not been too cheap yesterday. Think that over.

Local Postal Business Considered Remarkable "How much do you think our gross receipts are at the Richmond postofflce annually?" Postmaster Beck questioned a traveling postal official who visited the Richmond postofflce yesterday. "Oh, about $75,000," was the reply. The postmaster then announced that the local office had gross receipts amounting to $142,000, last year and that business is even heavier this year. "I am greatly surprised," the visitor said. "That is a remarkably large

business for a town of this size." He was equally surprised at the amount of parcel post work handled In the Richmond office. For a town of 25,0000 to 30,000 inhabitants the government expects not more than an average of 150 to 200 parcels a day, and one motor carrier is usually able to handle this amount. In Richmond

however, an average of 292 packages daily Is delivered, and during a recent count 42? packages daily is delivered, and during a recent count 425 packages were delivered on one day, by the parcel post carrier with footman and two mounted carriers assisting with other smaller packages.

The official was investigating gener

al postofflce conditions In Richmond and Wayne County. American Business Grows In Jamaica N (Br AocJatl Prenl ' KINGSTON, Jamaica, May 9 There l. 1 Jt 1 . . A m.Fi
