Rooster "Mothering" Chicks Shown In Store Window If you have never seen a rooster mother little chickens, or rather father them, look In the window of Ed. N. Wilson, dry cleaner. Twenty-four little chicks and a rooster compose this novel window display. The rooster and chicks belong to Ed. Hatfield of Greensfork. The chickens are incubator chickens. The rooster is a Rhode Island Red capon. It takes care of the chickens like any mother hen. They sleep under his wings at night and he fights for them and feeds them in the day. He eats grain out of any one's hand and feeds it to the little chickens, and does not hesitate to fight anyone who attempts to disturb their peace. Chicken authorities say that it is unusual for a rooster to care for chickens in such a manner.
