NOTICE OF PETITION FOR IMPROVEMENT OF HIGHWAY Notice is hereby given that a petition addressed to the Board of Commissioners of Wayne County, Indiana, was filed on the 27th day of March, 1919, in the office of the Auditor of said county, by Harry W. Gilbert, and more than fifty other voters and freeholders of said county, praying for the improvement of a highway under tbs provisions of the County Unit Road Law, which petition, omitting its caption and signatures, is as follows: "Gentlemen: The undersigned, being fifty (50) and more freeholders and voters of Wayne County in the State of Indiana, respectfully petition and pray your Honorable Body for the improvement under the provisions of the County Unit Road Law of a certain public highway within said county, and particularly described as follows, . to-wit: - "Beginning at a point on the Richmond and Boston Turnpike where the Isame intersects with the Strr'ght Line ' Vike in Wayne Township, Wayne County, Indiana, and continuing thence in a southeasterly direction along 6aid Richmond and Boston Turnpike to the north corporate limits of the Town of Boston; thence south along Salem Street in said Town of Boston to the south corporate limits of 6aid town; thence continuing south along said Richmond and Boston Turnpike to tho county line between the counties of Wayne and Union in said State of Indiana, which point of terminus is approximately one n:ile south of said Town of Boston. Said highway being in total length of approximately six miles. "Said- petitioners respectfully show that said public highway has already been established, and they now petition and pray that said highway be improved by grading, draining, changing and widening the same where necessary, and paving as hereinafter recommended. Width. "We recommend the width of said highway be as now established, except where it shall be necessary to widen the same for drainage or construction purposes. Character of Improvement. "We recommend that the highway be paved with concrete, the same to be eighteen feet in width, nine feet on either side of the center line of said highway, and on either side of said strip of concrete paving there shall be a berm of gravel six (6) feet in width. "We recommend that such changes be made in the grade of said highway and the drainage, culverts and bridges on the rame, as in the discretion of said Board of County Commissioners may be necessary and of public utility. ;1 11 of which is respectfully requested." This petition will be presented for hearing and determination to the Board of Commissioners of Wayne County, Indiana, at their office in the Court House, at Richmond, Indiana, at 10 a. m. o'clock on Saturday, the 19th day of April, 1919. M., on Saturday, April 12th, 1919. for the following described public improvements in the City of Richmond, as authorized by the Improvement Resolutions named : Improvement Resolution No. 558 1919. v W i Providing for the improvement of South 9th Street from South E Street to the S. Corporation Limits of tho City of Richmond, Indiana, by paving "ne roadway of said street in such portion thereof as is not provided for by the three-mile road proceedings for the Improvement of such highway now

Providing for the improvement of the north side of South B St.: By constructing a cement sidewalk 6 fL wide; also cement curb and gutter from the east terminal of the present cement walk on the north side of South B St. at the east side of Tract of Tract 511, Official Map to South 21st Street. A certified check for $100.00 must accompany each bid. All work done in the making of said described public improvements, shall be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Improvement Resolutions, as numbered, and the detail plans, profiles, drawings and specifications which are on file and may be seen in the office of said Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond. The bidders, In submitting proposals to make said described public improvements, must accompany each bid with a certified check in the sum of above, as evidence of good faith that the successful bidders will execute, within ten days from the acceptance of proposals, contracts and bonds satisfactory to the said Board to do the work of making said improvements. A failure of the successful bidders to enter into such contracts and bonds upon the acceptance of such proposals will forfeit the checks and the sums of money payable thereon to the city as agreed and liquidated damages for such failure. The City of Richmond will pay, within thirty days after the approval of the final assessment roll by the Board of Public Works, for the said above 558-1919 Improvement, the cost of that portion of the St. and Alley intersections not paid under the three-mile road law, and 10 of the cost of the curb and gutter.
