CAMBRIDGE CITY Thieves broke Into the B. F. Wisaler hardware store Saturday night, and stole a small amount of goods. The Presbyterian Guild will meet with Mrs. Ophla Shultz next Wednesday afternoon. DUBLIN Funeral services for William Mustin, who died Saturday, were held at the home Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Mr. McCormlck officiated. Burial was la Milton cemetery. He is surviv ed by his widow and son Arthur. Union Christian Endeavor gave an April Fools social at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Walton Tuesday evening. Rev. E. C. Hallman, former pastor of the Methodist church here, will give a lecture at the church Tuesday evening, April 8, on "The Web of Life." He is in Indiana to attend the Northern Indiana conference at Peru. Mr. Hallman was forced to resign his pastorate here because of pocr health, and has been making his home in the east. His health is much Improved. The Mothers' club met with Mrs. Grace Kinneman last Thursday afternoon. The W. H. M. S. of Methodist church will meet Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Julia Morgan. Bit a a Wee club met at the home of Mrs. O. D. Hall Tuesday evening. Services will be held at the Friends church Sunday morning and evening. Rev. H. H. Comptori will have charge of the services at the Methodist church at 10:30 o'clock. CAMPELLSTOWN, O. The farm residence of Rev. Mr. Masterson, pastor of First Christian church, was completely destroyed by fire yester

day afternoon. A defective flue is thought to have caused the blaze. Most of the household goods were destroyed. George Baker, of Indianapolis, owner of the house, carried light insurance,- but the household goods were a complete loss. The Masterson family was at Richmond during the day and did not know of the fire until their return. CENTER V1LLE Miss Grace Hadley, county demonstration agent, gave a talk on "Better Homes," at a meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary Tuesday afternoon at Centerville. Mrs. Roy Means, president of the organization, presided. Mi83 Hadley gave several points on textiles and showed the proper sort of dress for every occasion.' HAGERSOWN Hagerstown's first community sale will be held next Saturday afternoon, commencing at 1 o'clock. Horses, cattle, Shetland ponies, hogs, farm Implements, furniture and household goods will be sold. JACKSONBURG A movement is on foot here to have the fanners buy the elevator at Pershing on a cooperative plan. Local buyers are paying farmers thirty cents for hens this week and the price is still on the upward trend.

Sidney Howard, of Brockton, Mass., is carrying as a pocket-piece a Spanish silver coin dated 1777, equivalent to half a dollar, which was given to himas a prize for being the first to 6ight the first sperm whale when he was on a whaling voyage in 1873.

World-Wide Telephone System Is Considered (By Associated Press) . NEW YORK, April 3 Plans for a world-wide telephone system are being considered by the General Electric company," according to a statement made by Ernest P. W. Alexanderson, consulting engineer of the company, in an address here yesterday before the American institute of radio engineers. Mr. Alexanderson declared that two devices invented by him the bridge receiver and the barrage receiver would make possible introduction of such a system, so that business deals could be transacted in a few minutes by persons thousands of miles apart. He explained that the system contemplated Is virtually a replica of the

exchange system of ordinary tele

phony. Central offices, he said, would be established in all the prin

ciple cities.

Steel Price Question May Be Reconsidered i (By Associated Press) WASHINGTON, April 3. Refusal yesterday of Director General Hines of the railroad administration to accept fixed prices of steel as suggested by the industrial board of the department of commerce, may possibly result in the entire question of steel prices being reopened, It Is believed in some-quarters here. Announcement that Mr. Hines had rejected the proposed price schedule was made after an unsuccessful conference of members of the cabinet, the industrial board and representatives of the food and fuel administrations and war finance corporation, held in an effort to effect an agreement between the industrial board and the railroad administration head.
