.Falls Down
Transportation is the most vital force in all business. When transportation falls down the wheels of progress stop!
America saw too well the truth of this during those frenzied days a year ago when we were rushing to the aid of war-stricken Europe. Rail transportation crumbled under the load and the days were dark. But there was thrown into the breach a new and more modern mode of transportation and it saved the day. It was MOTOR transportation. It was an experiment then over roads largely unfit for it but MOTORS proved their place and today the nation is planning a vast new work of highways for motor traffic. But that's another story. Our own Kansas City has seen the motor car save its very business life three times in the past sixteen months when street car transportation was paralyzed by labor troubles. It is saving Kansas City's business today with the third strike in progress and street car traffic still uncertain. More than 200,000 men and women who carry on the life and trade of this city go from their homes to their work and
back again every day. How often have you heard it said fervently: "Thank Heaven for the motor car. What would we do without them?" The wise man will profits by these lessons. He knows that his two greatest assets are TIME and ABILITY. They are interlinked. Ability is dependent upon time upon the daily schedule. Are you making the schedule in the old way on foot, or upon uncertain street cars, or depending upon generous neighbors, wise neighbors who have added motor cars to their equipment? Why not a motor car for you? Isn't it as necessary to you as a house to live in? The motor car means independence. It is a time-saver and time is money. How much has failure to keep your appointments, to get to your business, cost you? How much has it cost your firm because your employees didn't get to work? Can you afford these losses?
The man with a motor car has an added value for himself and for the world. He is an' on-time man. And time and dependibility are big factors in the work of restoring peace and prosperity to the world. Be forewarned. Equip yourself to take a "man's place" in the big work of the world !
