Thirty women attended the lunch eon-bridge party yesterday afternoon at the country club. A three-course luncheon was served at noon - and bridge was played In the afternoon. There were seven tables of bridge, the favors of the afternoon going to Mrs. Wlllard Carr, Mrs. Harry Lontz asdMiss Elisabeth Comstock. Out of iests yesterday were Miss Martws of Minneapolis. Julius' McOrayel of Indianapolis is the guest of Miss Rodgers of this city. Miss Lauretta Moraches of Anderson is the week-end guest of Miss Madeline Elliott. The young people of Reid Memorial church will give a penny supper this evening from 6:30 to 7:30 o'cloc at the church. The public is invited. Howard Monger. Carl Weisbrod, and Marias Fossenemper went to Eldorado, O., last evening where they assisted the band give a concert in the K. of P. halL Mrs. Bessie Robinson and little daughter, Marjorle, will go to Rochester, Minn., tomorrow where Marjorle will take treatments at the Mayo hospital. ' The little girl has been under their care for the past year.

Dill at their home on South Eighteenth street. In courtesy to two new pledges of the Delta Theta Tau sorority, a theatre party was given last evening by the local chapter. Twelve members were present. The regular meeting of the sorority will be Monday evening at the home of Miss Katherine Elliott on the National road, west MIbs Ruth Ott entertained a party of friends at her home on Klnsey street Wednesday evening. The evening was spent in dancing after which light refreshments were served. Those present were Miss Kathryn Rauach, Miss Irma Weaver, Miss Grace Simcoke, Miss Violet Osborne, Miss Lydla Hezeltine and Miss Otte. Members of the Knights of Columbus will give a dance this evening In their club rooms. ; All club members and friends are invited. Plans have been made to make this one of the largest of the year. An out of town orchestra will play for the dance. Miss Marjorie Laws of Minneapolis, Minn., arrived this week for a several weeks' visit with Mr. and rMs. Howard Dill. , Miss Electa Henley went to Chicago last evening to attend a convention of Home Economics teachers which is in session there this week. Miss Thelma Thomas, assisted by Miss Gertrude Clark, will give an entertainment at the Christian church next Tuesday evening under the auspices of the Loyal Daughters' class. A small admission will be charged an the proceeds will be used for the Armenian relief fund. The Cralgy Var Club was reorganized last evening at the home of Bessie Cruse on North Twentieth street. Officers for the remainder of the present year were elected and other business matters discussed, after which a social time was enjoyed. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess late in the evening. The members of the club are Bessie Cruse, Carolyn Bradley, Cora Harris, Carolyn Rodefeld, Mrs. Carl Elliott, Eleanor Smith, Mary .Clapp, Hazel Cruse, Vera Pfafflin, Jeane Ellis, Caroline Smith and Nellie Hawkins. The next, meeting of the club will be held in two weeks at the home of Miss Carolyn Bradley. Mrs. L. M. Feeger went to Cincinnati yesterday, where she was called

All women of the church and friends are invited. The Do Your Bit knitting club held an all day meeting yesterday with Mrs. Mary Hartman and Miss Elsie Hartman at their home on the Middleboro pike. The day was spent sewing for the Belgian children and nine garments were made. Mr. and Mrs. Clement V. Carr entertained wiih a seven o'clock dinner last evening at the Arlington hotel In celebration of their thirty-fifth wedding anniversary. A bouquet of red carnation formed the centerpiece for the tabid. A three-course luncheon was served, corns laid for Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. King, Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Jenkinson. Miss Martha Whitacre, Mr. and Mrs. Cart Wadman, Miss Katherine Carr. Earle Cart and Mr. and Mrs. Carr. Mr. and Mrs. Carr were married in Richmond by Rev. F. Craft, who was then pastor of Grace Methodist church. Among those who were at the wedding were Mr. and Mr. Elmer King and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jenkinson. Mrs. Horace Hoffman of Dayton. O., is the guest of her sister, Mrs. John Clements, for a few days. Miss Corrine Klrkham and Miss Etta Lamott entertained members of the Cherie Comaradie club last evening with a theatre party and luncheon following. Those present were Miss Meta Weyman, Miss Bertha Taube, Miss Lillie LeMeur, Miss Clara Blomeyer. Miss Muriel Mashmeyer, Miss Myrtle Ferris, Miss Klrkham and Miss Lamott. Word has been received that Carl Steinhilber of New Madison, has arrived in New York from overseas. Miss Catherine Binkley entertained a party of friends at her home last evening on the National road, west The evening was spent In dancing and playing games after which a luncheon was served. Those present were Miss Miriam Jordan, Miss Esther Carlyle, Miss Doris Puckett, James Reee , Homer Meyers, John Teagarden, Eugene Messick and Earl Tauer.

Cooperating with the British government, the A. R. C. has spent $238,000 in caring for shell-shocked children in England.

Mrs. Omar Brown Dies Day After Death of Mother GREENSFORK, Feb. 28. Following the death of her mother yesterday. Mrs. Omar Brown, 40 years 'old, died this morning at her home here. : She has been ill for some time and was not conscious of her mother's death which occurred yesterday. Mrs. Brown was Miss Pet Yeager before her marriage. She is survived by her husband and a small son, Edward. A double funeral for Mrs. Brown and her mother, Mrs. Jane Yeager, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Yeager hctae. " Burial will be in the south cemetery. Rev. Mr. Morris of Williamsburg Methodist church will officiate.

$2,500 SUBSCRIBED TO LUTHERAN FUND

Approximately $2,600 has been eub scribed so far to the drive being made in the Lutheran churches in Richmond for the Lutheran reconstruction work to be done in Europe. At St Paul's Lutheran church $915 was subscribed. St John's church so far has subscribed $600. although some of the reports are not In.
