The Muncie floor is small and that team will naturally be lost until it can get tbe run of such a large floor. Coach Eckel, wiirglve his team light practice for the game and next week for the basketball tourney.

Basketball Schedule
is Announced by Fourteen basetball games, eight at home and six scheduled away from borne were announced 'by Manager Vernon Thursday for the Richmond basketball schedule next year. Spiceland, Newcastle and Shelbyville are on the next year's basketball schedule by Vernon. - The Richmond basketball team has never met the Spiceland team on any previous schedule. Tbe entire schedule as It now stands presents a number of strong teams. Coach Eckel will only have two of his regulars remain for next year. They are Dolllns, the fighting center, and Price, the back guard. Vore, who is showing up well at tbe forward position this year will be back. Both Loehr and Reid will return. " Van Allen, Eversman and Stegman will go out this year. Gordon Gaylor one of the heaviest men in the high school, will make an excellent basketball man either next year or the following year. Gaylor has weight but has not gained the science of the game sufficiently to place him on the team. With Gaylor coming on for either 1920 or 1921, Richmond high school prospects loofcsood.. LIGHT LINEUP MAY HAMPER HAGERSTOWN TEAM AT TOURNEY HAGERSTOWN. Feb. 28. John W. Rhodes, last year's coach of the Manilla basketball team, will pilot the Hagerstown basketball team this year. Hagerstown lineup this year will be exceptionally light, averaging about the same as the Richmond high, school basketball team. The lineup is as follows: Stout, captain, c, 154; Murray, f, 137; Leavelle. f, 149; Teetor, g, 127; Forkner. g. 145; Root, sub. f, 135; Small, sub. f, 135; Showalter, sub. f, 132; Rinehart, sub. g, 135; Petty, sub. g. 117. The ages of those on the regular team range from 16 to 18 years of age. The youngest member of the team is Root, 15 years of age. Rhodes in speaking of what he expects his tea mto do this year said: "I am expecting of my team in the tournament that each boy on the team be manly, courageous and courteous, end give the best they have for the team." Hagerstown basketball team this year has played nine games, winning two and dropping seven. The games with the results are as follows: Hagerstown 15, Newcastle 16, at Hagerstown; Hagerstown 27, Cambridge City 16, at Hagerstown; Hagerstown 21, Liberty 47, at Liberty; , Hagerstown 27, Straughn 42, at Straughn; Hagerstown 22, Fountain City 61, at Fountain City; Hagerstown 9, Middletown 25, at Middletown; Hagerstown 17, Cambridge City 46, at Cambridge City; Hagerstown 51, New Lisbon 30, at Hagerstown; Hagerstown 19, Hagerstown High school team, 21, at Hagerstown. Out of four games played at home the Hagerstown team won only two and lost every game played away from home. The Hagerstown aggregation makes no excuses for the poor record. Coach Rhodes said, "The boys are handicapped by having 'no coach,' as he was termed by Snook of Liberty, at last year's tourney, when giving an excuse as to why Liberty lost to Foun tain City. Mr. Snook said: "You might ask what was the matter with that fine team of Connersville which was defeated by the Manilla team with 'No coaoh.'" Rhodes claims he still possesses all the elements that it takes to make a "no coach" as attributed by Snook. ,

Anderson, Lebanon and Martinsville may also be added to this schedule. All four teams have been asked for a game. Of late the Anderson officials have' not been booking games with teams across tbe state for their team, but It is thought it may be arranged. S RANDOM PORT NOTES By JACK KEENE. r ; The Yankee squad Is topheavy in outfielding material, just as it is in pitching, and decidedly shy. from the standpoint of quantity, in catchers and infielders. Unlike the pitching staff, the outfield division runs more to quantity than to quality and Huggins now faces the task of cutting loose a few of the fly chasers. He has thirteen picketers on the squad at the present time, but at least six of these will be among the missing when the players begin spring training at Jacksonville in a few weeks. High, Marsans and Gilhooley were the leading outfielders of the club when Huggins signed as manager, and Miller and Hendrix were candidates fof regular berths. Four of these five can be crossed off the 1919 list, though only two have been sent to other clubs. Hendrix was the first to go, and recently Gilhooley was re leased in the deal which brought Duffy Lewis to the New York club. Huggins will not have either High or Marsans in the coming campaign, and it would not be surprising if Miller, the be6t fly chaser of the entire collection is seen but seldom in Yankee games. Marsans received a contract some time ago, but it is understood that he is through with major league baseball and will not leave Cuba again. High is on the Yankee reserve list, and recently was reinstated by the National commission, but he will not be seen in a New York uniform. Lewis, Bodle and Milled stand out the best of the outfielders as the staff is constituted at present. Besides these three veterans Huggins will probably tae only three or four youngsters to the training camp. The Yankee leader Is inclined to the belief that George Halas is about ready to show major league ability, and it will be no surprise if he sticks with Snrinefield. Mast. "I am a night operator was all run-down, couldn't sleep, had no ambition, all tired out I had tried blood and nerve tonics without help and thought I would try Vinol ana I must Bay it has built me up so I feel better, look better and sleep better." the club after the final cat down to , reach the player limit. Sam Vick, purchased In 1917 from the MemphlB club, will get another opportunity to win his spurs as a big leaguer. Vick lacks experience but has a great arm and Is a dangerous hitter, two qualities which recommend him . highly to Huggins and make probable his retention as a member of the club. Vick has just been discharged from the army and Is at his home in the south, awaiting orders to proceed to Jacksonville. The newcomers who will get tryouts are Arthur Hartle, with the Toledo club for a short time last season, and Frank Kane, drafted from Providence In 1917. Kane was In the army all last summer. He led the Eastern league in batting with a mark of .340, and after being released that season by Providence, he hit at a .303 clip In forty-six games. He drew his discharge from the army several days ago and is certain to be among those present at Jacsonville. The Chicago National league club, it is announced, has set June 6 as the day to honor Hank 0,owdy. It is hoped that by that date Gowdy will be back with the Braves and that Aleyander and KilUfer will be on hand to lend eclat to the celebration.
