VOTING SYSTEM REVISION TASK BEFORE STA-fe . ': " i . ' f ( i) : 'i. 1 . . Three Measures Now Before Senate Elections Committee Movie Legislation Pending. (Br Aasoclatad Praia) INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 7. Of three bills proposing to revlae the registration of Totera system In the state, the Indiana legislature faces the task of enacting a law which will appease clamor against the law now in effect.
The work first fa before the senate
elections committee' where the three
measures now are pending.
One, introduced by Senator Oscar Ratts of Paoll prorldes for precinct registration by 'county and township assessors, except In large cities where
the present method would be followed. Another proposed by Senator Furnas of Lynn,, provides for precinct registration , by trustees, using the
present registration books as a basis, The third bill, drawn by Senator All-
dredge would provide for registration
of elector under the method employed by the federal government in registering men for the selective service. Meet Contingencies. All three bills make provisions to meet contingencies caused by the re
moval of a voter from one precinct to
another, the death of an elector, and those newly twenty-one years of age. Senator Ratt's . measure was the tint of the three introduced and committed consideration of it was started when Senators Furnas and Alldredge brought forth their bills. It is considered probable that the better features of the last two bills Introduced will be Included by the committee Into the Ratts' measure. An objection raised In the committee to the Alldredge bill was that "crooked" politicians possibly could buy the registration cards of electors and bring In many voters thereunder. The cards would have to be shown at the polls before voting. Movie Legislation. Members of the legislative committees on rights and privileges, and public morals are having their troubles Just now; The senate committee on the one hand is asked to recommend a bill legalizing Sunday motion picture shows, and at the same time Is beseiged from every corner of the state with petitions signed by from five to fifty persons, protesting against such action. The senate committee on rights and privileges, has before It now the bill which would permit Sunday motion picture shows, and also a bill specifically closing Sunday motion picture shows, In addition to prohibiting Sunday football, baseball, and other games to see which' an admission fee must bo paid.' Must Report Promptly. Members cf the lower house of the Indiana legislature, accustomed to report late for work, have been informed by Speaker Eschbach that the sessions convene dally at 10 o'clock In the morning and not five to fifteen minutes after 10. Each morning recently from six to fifteen members have been absent at the roll call. No senate bills which have passed the upper branch of the Indiana leg4alAtlira n1 sonf in tViA linuaa will Via
killed In committee if Speaker Esch-
bach has his way. He has directed chairmen of the house committees to invite senators, who are authors of bill sent to the house, to appear before the committees and explain the merits of their respective bills. , Minor Bills. Among measures regarded as being
of minor Importance, Introduced In,
the house of the Indiana General Assembly are the following which provide: Trustees of townships shall have jower to levy a special tax not to exceed $1 on the $100 assessed valuation when the tuition fund at their disposal becomes exhausted. The present limit for the fund is 75 cents on the $100. Township trustees would be empowered to repair cattle guards at railroad crossings and fences along railroad right-of-ways, and to assess the cost at 25 percent above actual expenditure against the corporation "benefited.

OHIO TAX PROBLEMS BEFORE ASSEMBLY
, COLUMBUS, - O., Feb. 7. Yith groups of city and school officials piling high their claims tor additional revenues. Auditor of State A. V. Danahey made a plan for help to be given the General Assembly In the solution of taxation problems. "If the financial Captains of Ohio do not. come forward, and assist in providing a sensible method to place Ohio's concealed wealth on the grand
duplicate you will witness repudiation of government obligations," he said in an address.
"There must be a Quarantine on
further bond issues,", he said, "if repudiation or complete destruction of tax limitations is to be avoided. The
warning plea was sounded because of
the disclosure that . all interests are
begging for more money and not a single person has shown any disposition to aid in getting additional revenues.
Many Schemes Advocated. There are various schemes to help
distribute the public money, reformation af the budget commissions to check, the "rapacity" of .county offi
cials being one. A later addition is the proposal to make the levies for
health purposes take priority and precedence over all other levies, other than sinking funds and interest. Whether other departments will now seek to jump into the "first-table" positions is yet to be determined. Finally convinced that the taxation problems are serious the Senate today killed Representative Stokes's resolution to change Thanksgiving Day, but without obtaining satisfaction as to whether the proposal was a piece of satire or made in good faith. This action was taken after it had been learned that United States Senator Atlee Pomerene will pay not attention to the memorial seeking to tell him how to vote, obtaining his mandate from the voters of Ohio and not from the General Assembly.
Outlines of Fundamentals of Endeavor Work
R. A. Walker, field secretary of Indiana Christian Endeavor Societies gave an interesting lecture before a representative audience at the Whitewater Friends' church last evening expressing what Christian Endeavors stand for in the world. He drew four distinguishing points of the fundamentals of these societies; confessing the truth, loyality to the church, interdenominational fellowship, whole hearted service. "There are 84,000 Christian Endeavor societies in the world," the speaker said. "In this number all denominations are represented. Christian Endeavors are held in 3,000,000 churches of the world where the gospel is preached, and in every country where it is preached."

Headache of any kind is caused by
auto-intoxication -which means selfpoisoning. Liver and bowel poisons called toxins, sucked into the blood, through the lympth ducts, excite the heart which pumps the blood so fast that it congests in the smaller arteries and veins of-the head, producing violent, throbbing pain and distress, called headache. You become nervous, despondent, sick, faverish and miserable, your meals sour and almost nauseate you. Then you resort to acetanilide, aspirig or the bromides which temporarily relieve but do not rid the blood ot these Irritating toxins. A glass of hot water with a teaspoonful of limestone phosphate in it, drank before breakfast for awhile, will not only wash these poisons from your system and cure you of headache but will cleanse, purify and freshen the entire alimentary canal. .Ask your pharmacist for a quarter pound of limestone phosphate. It is inexpensive, harmless as sugar. If you aren't feeling your best, if tongue is coated or you wake up wtih bad taste, foul breath or have colds, indigestion, biliousness, - constipation or sour, acid stomach, begin the phosphated hot water cure to rid your system of toxins and poisons. When Uniform Is Taken Off Button Is Put On
VMM
Hundreds of thousands of young men donned uniforms and saved the world for democracy. Now those uniforms must be taken off and normal occupations resumed. Those men who have served their country at home or abroad naturally desire to have some symbol showing that they HAVE served. Realizing this,
The Indianapolis Sunday Star will begin to issue a handsome service emblem to be worn on the lapel of the one-time soldier's or seaman '8 civilian coat.
There are four types of these buttons, and any one of them tells the story of the service rendered. (See cut belong.)
