FORTY MILLION REGISTERED FOR 5ERMANJLECTI0N Men and Women Will Cast Ballots for National Assembly on Jan. 1 9.

BERLIN, Jan. 9. Forty million voters, men and women, must be registered for the election of a national ssembly In Germany on January 19 next, it is estimated by - Professor lingo Preuss, minister of the Interior. In the last Reichstag election the voters, all male, numbered only 14,000,)00, hm says. They were scattered -ver 397 election districts. The new lection bill provides for only 38 such I'.stricta for the wholo country which, rofcssor adds, means more than' a million voters in each district.

Professor Preuss is one of the few ; imminent leaders of the progressive Hourgeolse who was given an important post In the provisional govern-, ment. In an interview with a oor-i respondent of The Associated Press, he pointed out the technical difficul

ties in the way of organizing 40,000,000 voters in time for the election and ridded: Based on 8eeret Ballot. : "The constituent assembly should be thoroughly representative and Its mandate above suspicion. We therefore are proceeding with great caution. The new suffrage franchise which will be tried out at the coming election is based on a direct, equal, secret ballot for all males and female of twenty years and over. We are now engaged in Issuing writs for the election for which fully 40,000,000 men and women will qualify. "One of the principal details of the radical reconstruction of our voting system is the original compilation of a list of the Qualified women voters. Then the work of cataloguing the millions of returning soldiers that are taking up new residences is also contributing heavily to the task of organizing the election. "Our aim is to make this popular expression of the new democracy thoroughly representative and comprehensive."

KIDNEYS WEAKENING? BETTER LOOK OUT!

Kidney and bladder troubles don't disappear of themselves. They grow upon you, slowly but steadily, undermining your health with deadly certainty, until you fall a victim to incurable disease. Stop your troubles while there is time. Don't wait until little pains become big aches. Don't trifle with disease. To avoid future suffering begin treatment with GOLD MEDAL, Haarlem Oil Capsules now. Take three or four every day until you feel that you are entirely free from pain. This well-known preparation has been one of the national remedies of Holland for centuries. In 169C the govern

ment of the Netherlands granted a special charter authorizing its sale. The good housewife of Holland would almost as soon be without food as without her "Real Dutch Drops," as she quaintly calls GOLD MEDAL Haarlem Oil Capsules. Their use restores strength and is responsible in a great measure for the sturdy, robust health of the Hollanders. Do not delay. Go to your druggist and insist on his supplving you with a box of GOLD MEDAL Haarlem Oil Capsules. Take them as directed, and if you are not satisfied with results your druggist will gladly refund your money. Look for the name GOLD MEDAL on the box and accept no other. In sealed boxes, three sizes.

An examining physician for one of the prominent Life Insurance Companies, in an interview of the subject, made the astonishing statement that

j one reason why so many applicants for insurance are rejected is because kidjney trouble is so common to the Ameri- ' can people, and the large majority of

those whose applications are declined do not even suspect that they have the disease. ' Judging from reports from druggists, ' who are constantly in direct touch with the public, there is one preparation that has been successful in overcoming these conditions. The mild and healing influence of Dr. Kilmer's Swamp-Root is soon realized. It stands the highest for its remarkable record of success. j We find that Swamp-Root is strictly ' an herbal compound and we would advise our readers who feel in need of such a remedy to give it a trial. It is on sale at all drug stores in bottles of two sizes, medium and large. However, if you wish first to test this great pereparation send ten cents to Dr. Kilmer & Co., Binghampton, N.
