PARIS SUFFERED HOST FROM AIR RAIDS OF FOE Thirty-Five Madison County Men Gave Lives in War ANDERSON', Ind., December 20. More than thirty-five Madison county soldiers died in France and in training camps during the war, according to the records thus far compiled. Minister Rouse of Greece Informed the State Department today that the King of Greece had conferred decorations upon General March, Chief of Staff; Colonel Constant Cordier, liason officer of the General Staff, and Lieutenant Colonel Edward Dias, military attache of the American Legation at Athens. Upon General March the King conferred the cross of George I. Colonel Cordfer was made a great officer of the Order of George I., and Colonel Davis an officer of the same order. (By Associated Press) COPENHAGEN, Dec. 20.Former Emperor Charles of Austria-Hungary and four of his children are suffering from influenza, according to a telegram from Vienna. The former emperor has a very high fever. Late reports have been that the former Austrian imperial family was at Castle Eckarteau, near Vienna. D
1,211 Casualties in Ten Months as Result of German : Raids. PARIS, Dec. 20. Figures ar made public for the first time regarding the number of persons killed during German air raids and by the long range cannon. These statistics relate to the City of Paris only and not to the suburbs. In 1914, 45 bombs were dropped. In 1915, 70 bombs, 62 of them on March 20, fell In the city. In 1916 the enemy employed 61 bombs against Paris, and in 1917, 11. During the last ten months of the war there were 1,211 casualties from 396 bombs. Airplanes and Zeppelins d roped 223 bombs on August 6, killing two persons and injuring 392. The long-range cannon fired 168 shells into Paris, killing 196 and wounding 417. On last Good Friday more than 100 persons were killed.
Local Man Held Up by Cincinnati Bandits
CINCINNATI, O., Dec. 20. A report was made at the central police station here Wednesday night that Edward Prannon of Richmond had been held up and robbed of $183 by bandits. Brannon stated that the bandits took his money and then assaulted him with slung shots. It ia expected that the bandits have been operating in Court street for several years and are taking advantage, of the crime wave to get money.

V. Bulllet, of Indianapolis, has resign-. -d ai director of civilian relief for the Red Cross in Indiana, and has taken a position with the same organisation as head of the civilian relief work at Canton, Ohio. A groat part of the Red Cross work in this state; is in connection with the influenza, and much of the home service work In helping the families of soldiers, was directed by Mr. Bulliet. At one time he was in the newspaper business in Indianapolis.
