H. W. Gilbert, Federal Food Administrator for Wayne county, Just received a bulletin which provides for the Increase of sugar allotment to hotels and restaurants to three pounds for oach ninety meals served. This Increase Is due to the patrlgtlc conservation of the past four months, freer railroad transportation, and the new crop of beet sugar In the west and cane sugar in the south. Retailers and proprietors of public eating places will receive sugar certlflfates from the office of Dr. H. E. Barnard. tailers are cautioned to regulate their sales in such manner that their stocks of sugar will not be exhausted before the increased allotment can be provided by the Jobbers. The increased allowance of sugar to the consumer makes good the Food Administration's promise to the householder to more freely use the apple, cranberry and grape fruit products and fruits canned without sugar during the summer.

course of the action is what gives rise to the title. But Lillian Walker doesn't intend to be that girl, for Lillian Walker has started out on a career of Joy, which is to materialize in a series of eight photoplays, called "Happy Pictures." x Miss Walker's first picture of, this series is "The Embarrassment of Riches." It is to be shown at the Murray today and tomorrow.. It is a most apt title, for despite Miss Walwer's modesty, this dimpled maiden has accumulated sufficient riches from the screen to embarrass almost any normal young woman.

When Abe Lincoln was a poor country lad the world did not recognize in him the great Abraham Lincoln, future president of the United States. But Abe was honest, industrious and frugal and these rugged qualities of character soon bore fruit in improving his estate. How many of our young men today have to face the hardships arid struggles that confronted Lincoln in his youth? Mighty few! The life of the Great Emancipator is one long account of sacrifice and hard

work, of unflinching adherence to what was right and tireless effort in its accomplishment. . . . , j

Lincoln said : "Teach economy .

That's the purpose of this . message. Be frugal, saving, thrifty! It isn't so much the dollar you waste, but the fact that you're cultivating a bad habit in wasting it that has a far-reaching effect on your character, happiness, success. Save some of your earnings each week. Hold fast to your purpose to save. The best way is to have a savings account. You can't make headway until you do save.
