WASHINGTON Douglas Fairbanks new photoplay, "Say, Young Fellow," is described as being, perhaps, the most novel in which he has ever appeared. The story was written by Joseph Henaberry, who also directed the picture. An admirable cast of players appears In support of the popular Artcraft tar. In this photoplay Mr. Fairbanks portrays the role of a wide-awake, optimistic reporter, employed in a mall city, who wins distinction by Interviewing a millionaire who not only has never been interviewed before, but who announced that he never would submit to reportloriol inquisition. At the Washington Wednesday Wednesday and Thursday The tltlo of the first World-Picture, starring Louise Huff, is "T'other Dear Charmer." It will be shown on Sunday at the Washington theatre, and it gives this charming young actress the boot sort of a vehicle for the display of her wlnsomeness and superior ability. "T'other Dear Charmer" is a really charmingplcture. It is a story of the present time with the scene laid in and around a beautiful country home of a millionaire. In her newest Goldwyn photoplay, Mabel Normand is practically the only feminine member of the cast. "Back to the Woods," which comes to the Washington theatre Friday and Saturday depends on the star more than is usually the case nowadays, when an Important scene often enlists as many principals as are found in a big Broadway production. Elsie Ferguson In "Rose of the World,, at the Washington, Monday and Tuesday. Rosamond is the young bride of Captain Harry English, who is reported as slain on a battle-field in India. Her lack of ardor has inspired the belief in the husband that she does not care for him. Rosamond marries the ifeutenant-governor of the province, Sir Arthur Gerardine, middle-aged and prosaic. But brooding over the loss of English, whom she is beginning to realize she really loved she becomes ill and is ordered back to England by her doctor. She goes to her first husband's home, where everything seems to speak of the dead man. Sir Arthur rejoins her in England. Captain Harry, who has merely been wounded, returns in the disguise of a native, and at the crucial moment reveals himself to his wife, with the result that they are remarried. MURRETTE With the recent arrest in New York City of E. A. Rumely, publisher of the "Evening Mall," in connection with charges that his paper was owned by , the German government, It. also has come to light that sixteen New York banks carried deposits of German money to be used in enemy propaganda. Germany's whole plot to corrupt public opinion in America and cripple our efforts in the war is revealed in "The Prussian Cur," which comes to the Murrette theatre today. Douglas Fairbanks' famous swimming pool at Beverly Hills, Cal., served as the background of the scenes in "He Comes Up Smiling," his latest Artcraft photoplay which is on view at the Murrette theatre Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The lawn of his home was camouflaged with tables, chairs and overhead parasols to look like a country club tea party. If you!

"In Judgment Of." starring Anna Q. Nilsson and - Franklyn Farunm. with an all-star cast headed by Herbert Standing, which will be the feature at the Murrette theatre Wednesday only.' This is the tremendous court - room scene where the phychic powers of Many Manners (played by Miss Nilsson), are the means of denouncing the real culprit and clearing the name of her, lover from the charge of murder. With flashing eyes President Woodrow Wilson reviewed the deeds of the American Army in France at "the official Inaugural of "America's Answer." presented at the Belasco theatre, in Washington, on Monday evening, Aug
ust 26. . Pride in his fellow citizens, battling overseas, seemed to be the dominating emotion with the Commander in Chief as he watched the doughboy struggling with the Picardy mud and saw General John J. Pershing and a gathering of his officers. To be shown at the Murrette Thursday, Friday and Saturday. MURRAY. . Elliott Dexter recently renewed his contract with the Famous PlayersLasky Corporation to play leading roles. He plays the supporting character in "The Girl Who Came Back," in which Ethel Clayton is star, and which will be shown at the Murray theatre today. Mr. Dexter has done many excellent things for both Paramount and Artcraft. Tom Mix, the dashing, daring William Fox star, has been doing splendid work upon the screen but perhaps the most daring thing that has has accomplished is in his latest production, "Mr. Logan, U. S. A." which will be shown at the Murray Wednesday and Thursday. He vividly portrays the thrilling work of a secret service man who matches his wits against the machinations of German spies, who seek to cripple government activities. It is seldom that so many players of note are grouped in the cast of any pbqtoplay as appear in Wallace Reid's support in "The Source," his newest Paramount picture, which will be shown at the Murray theatre next Friday and Saturday. The players SUNDAY Jewel Productions offer MONROE SALISBURY In a thrilling and romatlc drama of the west Winner Takes All From C. E. BOYS IN SERVICE GIVE GENEROUSLY -TO FOURTH LOAN The boys who are serving their country are also generously giving their money toward the war, according to W. H. Vogelsong, who Is training for the navy at the Great Lakes station. : In the following leter from Vogelsong he tells of the support which the Bluejackets at the Great Lakes are giving the fourth loan : "Here is a record which I don't believe Wayne county could beat," he writes. 'They are having the loan drive here as well as any place else, and in Company I, of the second regiment at Camp Dewey, $7,200 was raised for the loan. A company you know, is composed of 144 men, and if I am not mistaken, there are only 100 men in this particular company. In this regiment, which has not yet been filled, there has been $32,200 raised, which I think Is a very good record, since there are only about 1,000 men in this regiment. "I think this news will be rather interesting to the people at home who are holding back." "No negotiation without occupation" is the sentiment of James W. Gerard, former ambassador to Germany. The 13,000,000 draft numbers were drawn in twenty hours.
