Good Bill Opens Week at Murray Theatre There Is plenty of good comedy and an exceptional dancing act on the bill which opened at The Murray yesterday. Morgan and Stewart in their skit, "At the One-Arm Lunch," have a novel offering full of innumerable laughs, and they were thoroughly enjoyed. It remained, however, for the Virginia Trio to put over the real hit of the evening. This act is full of good comedy, singing, and for dancing well the young man is reminiscent of George M. Cohan in his palmy days as a dancer, and the audience were reluctant to let him retire. The screen offering today is "A pair of Cupids," portrayed by those newlyweds, Francis X. Bushman and Beverly Bayne.

Hearts of the World" Is Griffith's Master Film Griffith, master of the cinema, has surpassed himself In "Hearts of the World," to be shown at the Washington three days beginning Sept. 30. He has set a new standard for motion picture production which is not likely that even Griffith himself will surpass. And fortunately, he has found for his picture a most appropriate title. Today the hearts of the world pulse to the thunder of tne guns on the battle fields of Europe. Griffith has caught the feeling that today fills the earth and he has fixed it as a living,. vivid, graphic record, a tremendous humaa document that brings the war and all that it means and all that it- is, its causes, its hopes, its fears, its anxieties, its stupendous import brings them all to our thresholds. "Hearts of the World" indeed ia war war at its worst and war at its best, the deafening roar of its cannon, the sweep of its mighty charges, Its hazards upon hich rest not alone the fate of companies, regiments, divisions whole armies, but of the whole nations, and with these, the will of the individual to do and die. the sorrow that comes to men and to women alike, even to children, and, with the horror the sacrifice and the glowing glory of sacrifice. Griffith is not turning to the past; he is dealing with the living present. Reality has set itself before his camera, and it is far more impressive, more thrilling than anything that fancy could have posed for the cinema, VEGETIHE TABLETS The Ideal Laxative and Liver Tonio. Ancient Judea Lives Again in "Salome" Ancient Judea, in all its unrelieved barbaric splendor, all its pagan unrestraint, and with the soft glow of a more tender mood the coming of Christ foreshadowed in the gentle ministrations in a massive, yet, it is promised, wonderfully atmospheric photoplay which comes to the Murrette beginning Sept. 26. On that date William Fox will present a spectacle which , it Is admitted, taxed his resources and that is an ultimate promise for "Salome," the

name of the new production, In which Theda Bara, portraying of super-wom-en, appears in a role that has already inspired the greatest of writers, composers and painters. The cinema version of "Salome" follows closely the Biblical story as told by Josephus, the famous Jewish writer in his book, "The Antiquities of the Jews and the History of the Jewish Wars." It illustrates, with spectacular vividness, the various steps in the thrilling historical drama, and in the intensity of its climax is said to set a new record for sensation.
