Eat and reproduce. Trout have adopted the above slogan and are increasing in number due to their energy and close attention to business. "Plugging" for their stomachs Is any commodity along the culinary line; they can locate enails, shrimps, worms, grasshoppers, flies, minnows. They are especially fond of the smaller members of their own family ;( all of the above in conjunction with' many other samples of larva serve to appease their voracious fish appetites. Their growth is rapid, they are hardy and ever ready to give battle when seasonable lures are offered. There are many streams and lakes in the northwest where trout are as ignorant of the fly casting wiles o! the cultured angler as the German carp is when offered a dough ball by the so-called rough-neck, still fisherman. , As a matter of fact real pleasure and trout fishing thrills are expsrienced when following streams which have been whipped and fished by ODe's friends with unproductive- results. Chest expansion is experienced wnen you have personally outwitted these wily, speckled beauties who have been able to avoid landing nets for several seasons. When you have successfully thrown or flipped a fly through an opening in the brush, which has baffled your friend, using that forward wrist movement, accurately estimating distances, wind and brush entanglement, landing a "coachman," in the center of likely looking pool, there to be greeted by a scaled fighting tiger ot a brook trout species, who leaves the water in hia effort to be first in giving your fly a welcome, you have set your hook and down stream goes the prize,

occasionally coming to the surface inJ

his effort to release the hook and bid

you goodbye; your taut line is wavering around in the brush and your problem arises, as regards the landing of this beauty, which you know will be a source of envy to all friends Interested In angling. The feat 13 finally accomplished, not before yen wade out and through your brush blind into clear space. Trout fishing furnishes all thrills requisite to sensational fish-
