MURRAY Pauline Frederick, the Paramount actress who is today appearing in
"Mrs. Dane's Defense" at the Murray Theatre, has often said she would
rather drive any kind of a motor than anything else in the world and is more at home in an automobile than in a drawing room. She had an excellent opportunity to prove the sincerity of her words the other day when some scenes for her latest Paramount photoplay, "Mrs. Dane's Defense," were being taken at Yonkers, New Y'ork. Her newest car, a RollsRoyce, got fractious and wouldn't go any further. Not to be daunted, Miss Frederick demonstrated her intrepid spirit by fearlessly entering a Ford, and moreover, driving the thing successfully to the remote location where her director and the rest of the cast were anxiously awaiting her.
MURRETTE Miss Margarita Fischer, one of the most charming girls on the motion picture screen and one of the most
popular of stage Ingenues, is given a!
refined tomboy role in her new American Mutual offering, "Molly Go Get 'Em," which display's the star's ability to the best possible advantage. Molly is one of those irrepressible younger sisters, not yet formally introduced to society, whose elder sister's beaux and party affairs are envied by her as the most desirable elements in life. Miss Fischer is more at heme in
j the sub-debutante role than in any of
the more serious dramatic characters. She enters with evident enjoyment into the spirit of the piece which permits her to circumvent Big Sister in some of the latter's most cherished social plans and to have a merry time with some of Big Sister's best beaux, who cannot resist the fascinations ot this merry and ingenious wight. Today and tomorrow at the Murrette Theatre.

iiiij wasiuugiuu meaier r nuay ana Saturday, gave the winsome star the bussiest time of her entire career. In addition to the arduous work demanded of her by this thrilling and romantic drama, Miss Brady spent night after night in personal appearances at a great number of the big photoplay houses in and about New York City. The early stage and musical-comedy experience of this charming actress stand her in good stead for these ap
pearances; there is no one in the;
ranks of the screen stars who show to ' better advantage on those occasions when she comes face to face with the , thousands of her admirers. Miss
Brady's program consisted of a fiveminute talk, followed by several songs, including the famous "Over There" by her friend, George M. Cohan.
