Wayne Food Or gamzation One of Best in Indiana Says Letter

That Harry Gilbert, Wayne county food administrator, has built up one of the best organizations of the state In Wayne county in point of food work, is the statement contained in a letter received by Mr. Gilbert from the state food administrator's office. Part of the letter follows: "It is with sincere regret that we received your resignation as Federad Food administrator for Wayne county. "You have built up one of the best county organizations in the state of Indiana. You have been untiring in your efforts, and you have undoubtedly accomplished a splendid work for your county. You will appreciate as well as I the difficulty we will have in securing a . successor who will continue with the same high efficiency. Upon your resignation the splendW organization you have built up will be practically destroyed. At this critical time I am very sorry to see this occur. For this reason, though I fully understand the sacrifices you are making, I urge you to reconsider. the matter, and If possible continue to represent the Food Administration In Wayne county. CENTER TOWNSHIP GIRLS ORGANIZE

CENTER VI LLE, Ind., July 19. Marian Schroy was elected president of the Center Girls Canning v club at an organization meeting here yesterday afternoon, held under the auspices of Nina V. Shirt, home demonstration agent for Wayne county, and Miss Beulah Bowers, of Earlham col. lege. Other officers elected were Vivian Myers, vice-president; Zelda Gould secretary, and Dorothy Sinelser, assistant secretary. The following membership committee 'was appointed: Ethel Jackson, Mildred Hill, Angeline Dishman, Helen Jackson, Verda Xing, Edna Davis and Gladys Myers. U. S. PROVIDES FOR $50,000,000 LOAN TO CHINA Loans Are to be Shared by Japan, France and Great Britain. 'WASHINGTON, July 19. The American government has agreed to a loan , to China by American bankers, provided China cancels all outstanding loans and, that all loans be shared by the bankers of the United States, Great Britain, France and Japan. Details of the loan have not been completed, but $50,000,000 is the approximate figure under consideration to be advanced from this country. It is understood that the state department insisted upon the quadruple financial alliance so that no one country should gain a predominant financial influence in China. This will ne-
