The first mix Innings were fast and snappy, but In the seventh the Invisibles began to catch on to the dellreri8 of Malnes, the Fountain City hurler. Up to the sixth inning the score was tied at 3. The bright lights of the game In the hitting department were Wright and Daris of Whitewater, and in the hurling section. Jenning. the Whitewater moundsman. Next Sunday a double bill will be staged at Whitewater. Ford 'Eagle' Can Locate UMoats 30 Met Away (By Associated Press.) DETROIT, Mich., July 10. The first Ford "Eagle," or submarine chaser, to take the water recently has a speed of 45 knots an hour and la built around a device calculated to locate a submarine within a radius of thirty miles, according to Charles Brownell, advertising manager of the company, who declared the boats are being built at a rate of one a day. Mr. Brownell told a meeting of advertising men that the Ford Motor company's output now includes helmets, caissons, trucks, motors, airplanes, "Eagles" and tanks. "

" After the SAL games of last Saturday It Is hard to tell who will be the winner Saturday, but it Is doped out that the National Automatics and the Simplex will defeat the Jenkins and the Malleable aggregations. Last week without the pitching stars Hawekotte and Minner, the Natco and Simplex teams could not stop the ball or: when they had stopped It they could not throw It straight. Also "Bulldog" Runnels was pitching his best, and the losers were unable to bit him effectively. Next Saturday when the Simplex aggregation trots onto the field they will have their star pitcher Minner on the mound to oppose the Malleable hurler Runnels while the Natco will

GAME SCHEDULE FOR GIANTS ANNOUNCED

George Brehm. booking agent ' for the Richmond Giants, announced the following game schedule Wednesday:

On the 14th the Dayton Rubber

team will play here and their-lineup will be announced In a few days. The , Farmland team that defeated the Giants last week will play In Richmond and attempt to repeat Its victory. The 44th Aero Squadron from Dayton will play here on the 21st and expect to give the Giants a hard struggle. On August 7, the fast Tenth Infantry team of Indianapolis will play the Giants here. -

DUTY OF CHRISTIANS TO SUPPORT VAR FOUNTAIN CITY, June 10 The duty of every Christian to sacrifice his life If necessary in the defense of democracy, was emphasised in the war sermon delivered Sunday night by the Rev. Owen Llvengood at the Christian church. The sermon was based on the words of Christ; "Think not that, I came to send peace on the earth. I came not to send peace, but a sword." . "There la nothing in the teachings of Christ to make a man1 conscienciously opposed to fighting In this war on the aide of the allies," the speaker said, "The conflict is not a war of revenge nor of malice, nor of aggression, but a war of defense. Not a war for gain, nor selfish tends, but a war that stands for humanity's redemp

tion. The Christians' participation in the war does but. exemplify, in. the very highest degree the superlatives and distinctive characteristics of Christianity, namely, sacrifice and service.

Friends' Conference at Earlham College July 20 Announcement has been made that Dr. R. L.
