More Adequate Observance of
, Fourth Urged by London Press
(By Associated Press) LONDON. July 2. Criticism that the arrangements for the celebration of the Fourth of July in London are somewhat informal and inadequate to the occasion which there is every reason for Great Britain to commemorate worthily is made by the Daily Chronicle. The paper questions whether the central function which the King and Queen will attend a baseball game quite strikes the note of the moment and suggests that if 10,000 troops now in England marched through the streets and were reviewed by the King the impression created in the heart of the empire would be even greater than that produced by a baseball match in the suburbs." , With reference to the evening meeting at which Winston Spencer Churchill, minister of munitions will be the principal speaker, the Chronicle says: "Col.-Churchill, who is half American, can always be depended upon for

FINAL ARGUMENTS IN MURDER CASE
WINCHESTER, Ind., July 2. Final arguments were being made today in the case of Derilu3 Trout charged with poisoning Charles V. Milholland at Gaston last February, and it is expected that the case will go to tho jury tomorrow. All evidence in the case had been presented when court adjourned last night.. Trout took the stand in his own defense yesterday and related his story of his acquaintance with Milholland. He said that he had helped Milholland repair a chimney at his house on Saturday before his death on Sunday. According to Trout, Milholland told
him to get some strychnine to kill cats. Trout declared he bought the poison at the Kelly drug store in Gaston. He said that he did not see Milholland but once on the Sunday that he died and that was at the Van Atta restaurant. Trout said that Milholland asked him what kind of cough syrup he used and he replied: ' "Whisky and quinine.' " He wanted me to get him some whisky and I refused." Mrs. Trout, wife of the defendant, said that Milholland took the strychnine home with him after he had used part of it for poisoning oats.
