One of the classiest exhibitions of
fered Richmond fans this season will be played Saturday afternoon at Exhibition park, between the Camp Taylor soldier boys of baseball fame and the pick of the S. A. L. leaguers. The game will start at 2.30 o'clock. Accommodations have been made for a large crowd of fans. All the men on the Camp Taylor aggregation are old-timers at the national pastime and ' will be ready to hand the S. A. L. boys a hard fight. Although the S. A. L. club is stack
ing up against a tough proposition, Richmond fans believe that the team chosen by President Sam Vigran will put up a fight that will be well worth while seeing. This Is practically the same lineup that showed the colored
boys imported from Indianapolis a
close battle several weeks ago. Men in Good Shape. All the Richmond men are In good shape and Pete Minner, who will probably start the game, has been out warming up with Has In preparation for the big contest His arm is in good shape and with the support of the team, Pete will be able to give the soldiers a nassortment of stuff that may put the S. FIVE-BACK, NEW GAME AT BOWLING ALLEYS
With the arrival of hot weather, bowlers lost interest in their favorite game until a new bowling stunt was pulled off at the Twigg bowling alley. It is five-back. In five-back the balls are not much larger than a baseball, and not near eo much energy is expended in rolling them down the alley. Instead of knocking down the usual number of pins only five are used, which calls for more practice in hurling all the woden soldiers into the trenches. Five-back calls for more skill and nerve energy to bowl a good game.
Babe Ruth (left) and George Sisler. When the sizzling Mr. Sisler
came to tne crowns irom tne university of Michigan he was rated as a wonderful pitcher, but it wasn't long before he proved a more wonderful batter, with the result he was taken off the pitching staff and put in the game as a regular where nis batting skill would do the team more good. " Babe Ruth came to the Red Sox as a pitcher and has been a winner at his profession for several years. Last season Ruth

Tennis Tourney to be Held Here in August Richmond's young tennis sharks will have three opportunities to day
in tourneys this year.
During the month of August a tour
ney -for boys under sixteen and boys over sixteen will be. conducted at the
tennis court3 at the Twenty-second
street playgrounds. Last year "Shel" Simmons lowered the colors of all his
opponents and was victor in the Rich
mond older boys tourney. Richard Thornburgh handled the racquet the
best among the younger boys, winning
each set, and annexing the champion ship series.
Owing to the fact that no prizes were awarded at the state tennis
tourney, there was very, little competi
tion. This year, however, prizes will be awarded and a representative will probably be sent from Richmond to compete in the state tourney and if successful he will have an opportun
ity to take the national Junior tennis championship which will be played August 26.
PITTSBURGH AND CINCINNATI TEAMS MAY PLAY HERE
the Sunday School league which probably will be composed of five teams. At the first of the week three teams were fairly certain of entering the S. S. league: The St. Mary's team, Bethel A. M. E. and the First Christian team. Lyboult announced Friday that the Boy Scouts probably would enter a team.
I Both leagues will play at the Twen-jty-second playgrounds when the start Ii3 made.
At present the Playground league 'teams are playing practice games.
The Whitewater team in a close contest, Thursday defeated the Hibberd

ITCHING, SCRATCHING, SKIN DISEASES THAT BURN LIKE FLAMES OF FIRE
HERE IS A SENSIBLE TREATMENT THAT GETS PROMPT RESULTS For real, downright, carrassing, discomfort, very few disorders can approach so-called skin diseases, such as Eczema, Tetter, Boils, eruptions, scaly Irritations and similar skin troubles, notwithstanding the lavish use of salves, lotions, washes, and other treatment applied externally to the irritated parts. No one ever heard of a person being afflicted with any form of skin disease whose blood was in good condition. Therefore, it is but logical to conclude that the proper method of treatment for pimples, blotches, sores, bolls, rough, red and scaly skin, ia to
purify the blood and remora the tiny germs that break through and manifest their presence on the surface of the skin. People In all parts of the country have written' ua how they were completely rid of every trace of tneae disorders by the -use of 8. 8. 8-. the matchless, purely vegetable, blood purifier. S. 8. How It Was Changed
Is that all you know, Just your A-B-C's. This wa3 the question put to the members of the colored A. B. C. players, now called the Richmond Giants as a result. When the question was asked, one player suggested the name of Red Devils, but the management stalled on that, name for a Sunday ball club. After much discussion the appellation of Richmond Giants-was finally adopted and henceforth the club will be known by that cognomen.
GIANTS PREPARING FOR ANDERSON GAME
Lynch, the leading slabsman of the Richmond Giants, formerly the A. B. C.'s, is ready to come across with some home runs next Sunday when the Giants meet the Anderson Panhandles at the Exhibition park, be says. Lynch is leading the club in batting. Last Sunday he got three swats at the ball but the fourth time up the Indianapolis twirler got cold feet and let him walk. Manager Brehm does not expect easy picking in the coming Sunday game as the manager of the Anderson Panhandles will be up against it if his
team don't make a good showing here.
On this game he said, there hinges
the question as to .whether the Anderson manager will be able to book
games with the Kokomo Red Sox, the Newcastle Maxwells. Marion Boosters and the Anderson Eagles, an outside team. Board, who was spiked last Sunday in the second inning of the Merrlt-A. B. C. contest Is somewhat better but it is thought that Jones who took his place at first will have to remain on the active lineup for a Sunday or two. Otherwise the lineup for the Richmond Giants will be the same as last Sunday. Taxicabs in Stockholm, Sweeden, are burning wood alcohol owing to the scarcity of gasoline. ,
mets for the game, if an agreement of terms can be reached. The only other time that two major league teams faced each other at Richmond was about thirty years ago when Brooklyn and Cincinnati Reds played in the old Athletic park.
