American soldiers, suffering from shell shock, working fn garden at Fort McPherson. The Atlanta, Ga., chapter of the Red Cross is taking an active part in the reclamation work now under way to rebuild wounded and manned U. S. soldiers and create new interest in life for those whose senses and ambition have been stunted by shell shock. The chapter has provided a small farm for the boys. All of the soldiers in the picture recently returned from French battlefields. The woman in the picture is tha Red Cross attendant, known as Mother Sheldon to all of the soldiers.

Former Governor to Speak at CenterviUe CEXTERVILLE. June 11. Frank Hanley, former governor of Indiana, will give an address on "War and Prohibition" on Sunday, June 30, at the Methodist church. An effort will be made to have all the churches join in a union service in the evening, so that everyone may be given an opportunity to hear the address. Mr. Hanley is the head of the "flying squadron" of the Prohibition party. ; ,

CLAY REGISTRANTS MEET WEDNESDAY

GREENSFORK, Ind., June 11. The Clay Township Registered Men's club will hold its regular semi-monthly meeting at the K. of P. hall here Wednesday evening, and J. C. Kline, Wayne county agriculture agent, will discuss the work to be done by the organization this Bummer. A patriotic talk will be made by Hal Pod. The county agent will inaugurate the five acre corn contests in Ciay township and will ask every member of the club who works or lives on a farm to take part. One of the principal matters to come up before the registered men at this meeting will be the discussion of work on the farms this year. The members of the club have expressed their willingness to do all in their power to secure help for the farmers in the harvesting of their crops and the threshing of grain. Every member is urged to attend this meeting as it will be one of the most important 6ince the organization was effected.

Husband Threatened Life, Charges Wife Eva C. Rush filed suit for divorce against Frank Rush in circuit court Tuesday, alleging cruel and inhuman treatment. According to the complaint which charges the husband with having threatened her life on numerous occasions, the couple were married In 1915, and separated the latter part of 1917. Mrs. Rush asks custody of their child.

Farmers Are Urged to Order Fertilizer Now (By Associated Press.) WASHINGTON. June 11. Farmers of the United States are urged by the department of agriculture In a statement issued today to place orders Immediately for fertilizer needed for fall wheat. Placing of orders now will permit dealers and manufacturers to combine orders and economize in car space. Delay in ordering may bring a return of last spring's conditions, it is said, when many farmers failed to receive their fertilizer until after planting time.
