More Sugar Cards Received by Gilbert

Several hundred additional sugar permit cards have been received by Harry Gilbert, Wayne county food administrator. If any dealer in the county finds that he does not have enough cards for all of his customers, he is requested to telephone or write the county administrator's office and more cards will be supplied him.

H. A. Dill, president of the Commercial club, will attend a meeting of presidents of commercial organizations in Indianapolis, June 7. The meeting is for the purpose of taking up matters affecting commerce and industry, especially as affected by the war.

Murphy Obtains More Lots for Gardening City Gardner Murphy announced Friday that he had obtained the following lots for garden purposes: 106, 107, 108, 109 and 110, on Southwest Fourth street. The lots are all In the same plat, and may. be obtained by making application to Mr. Murphy at the Commercial club between 3 and 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The lots were turned over to the garden director by Ben. M. Thomas, of Hag-erstown.

Swat Fly" Movement

The Commercial club Is preparing to aid in the "swat the fly" movement by the publication of a small bulletin giving directions for ridding homes of the insects. The bulletin will be available to the public in a few days. Among the preparations which will aid In getting rid of flies, according to the bulletin, are oil of lavender, white clover, geranium, heliotrope and mignoette, which are all odors acceptable to persons, but which have a bad effect on flies. The best poisons are eaid to be formaldehyde and sodium salicylate. A mixture of cream,' black pepper and brown sugar is also advocated as an easily prepared poison for the insects.
