FRANKLIN TRACK TEAM DEFEATS EARLHAM TEAM
Franklin, although handicaped by the loss of several of its track men, easily defeated the Quaker track team Saturday at Franklin, 75-42 , Lawler -won first In the 120 hurdles; Hoerner in the 220 hurdles and Johnson took the third first for Earlham in the sbotput, the only irst places won by the Quakers. Captain Gross of the Franklinites was not able to appear. However, Naugle, Harrison and Crecast, who have been in the "sick list" for the last week, donned suits and went out. Edwards landed one second and one third, losing flrst place in the two mile run to Farmer who won on a sprint In the last lap. Klngsoliver won the individual honors, making 13 Vi points for Franklin. Peoria to Have Berth In Western League DES MOINES. Ia., May 6 Mayor Thomas Falrweather, owner of the local Western league club, has announced the team will be transferred to Peoria, 111., unless attendance at games here increases greatly. Tentative plans are being made for the transfer. It is said Peoria Interests have guaranteed 70,000 admissions for the season. Falrweather will not relinquish ownership if the transfer is made.
