SIX GAMES ON EARLHAM LIST
The Earlham baseball nine Jlnes up against the Miami sine Tuesday on Reld field owing to a change In the Quaker baseball schedule. The game scheduled with Franklin Saturday afternoon was called off on account of rain. The game has been scheduled for May 7. Coach Mowe since the poor showing made by the team at Miami, has been practicing the men on batting and has expressed his satisfaction over the improvement shown in the little time that they have had to practice. The last few nights however have been spent in practice games as enough men have reported to build a second team... It Is through the efforts of this second team that Coach Mowe hopes to build a strong nine. The new Earlham baseball schedule is as follows:
April 30 Miami at Earlham. . May 3 Butler at Earlham. May 7 Franklin at Franklin. May 10 Butler at Indianapolis. May 18 St. Marys at Dayton. May 34 Franklin at Earlham. Alex Believes He Has . Passed Into History CHICAGO, April 29. Grover Alexander believed he had passed into history as a big leaguer today when he started for his Nebraska home to Join the next draft quota at Camp Funston. Ills last game, pitched yesterday for the Chicago Cubs, was a two-hit victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. Roger Hornsby got the two .final hits oft the National league premier. "I mar never come back to play baseball," Aleck told his friends, "but I'll make It necessary for them to dig a lot of holes for the enemy before they get me "

Single G Again in
Fred Jamison's Stable
The Cambridge City pacer. Single G,
2:00, is again in the stable of Fred Jamison and again will be campaigned
the coming season by the Washington,
Pa., reinsman.
Single G In his best form is hard to
boat and according to reports ne is in excellent condition and working good.
Tho bay stallion will be raced mostly
over the mile tracks, but win probably be seen in some of the fast paces over tho two mile tracks. Minos will be operated by the Silver Plume Mining & Royalty Co., Miami, Oklo., incorporated with $500,000 capital by Fort Worth (Tex.) and Vernon (Tex.) Investors.
The next important boxing bout on the card is set for the first week of May, when Billy Mlske and Jack Dempsey collide. Mlske is fresh from a knockout victory over Tom Cowler, the Englishman who all but knocked out Fred Fulton in a previous bout in St. Louis. Dempsey is the newest thing in heavyweight sensations. Just how good he is remains to be determined. He hasn't done much aside from trimming Gunboat Smith and Carl Morris and recently he was caught in the act of padding his record by knocking out sparring partners who milling under false names. The Mlske melee, however, will give the fans a real line on him. We note, too, that Miake is referred to as a light heavyweight This Is
hardly the case. Mlske In condition weighs 185 pounds and is about six feet tall. There is nothing light about
him when the heavies of the past are concerned. Jim Corbett weighed but 176 pounds when he fought Peter Jackson. The night he won the heavy
weight championship from John L.
Sullivan he stepped into the ring
weighing an even 178.
Tom Sharkey in his prime never
weighed as much as Mlske does today.
Bob Fltzsimmons never tipped the
beam at more than 160 pounds. The day before he fought Corbett for the championship he weighed 158 pounds. And Charlie Mitchell, the wonderful little Englishman who died recently, weighed less than 145 when he fought Sullivan a draw. . Perhaps it would be more fitting to refer to Champion Jess Willard, who weighs 240 pounds, as the heavy heavyweight. , Here is something new in alibis. Jock Malone, the St. Paul welterweight who was recently defeated by Bryant Downey, explains his defeat thusly: "It was a case of too much
talcum powder sprinkled upon the canvas in the ring that night, which caused me to skid and flounder all over the place." We are to assume, of course, that Downey's feet were equipped with tanglefoot paper. Willie Mitchell, released by the Indians, proved to be a tower of strength to the Tigers last season, but the chances are the Southern left-hander will be of little service this year. To begin with, the opening of the season found him sick in a hospital, threatened with pneumonia. He has recovered
but is still weak. Just about the time he finds he is able to take his turn regularly on the slab Uncle Sam is expected to step in and hustle him off to camp. This is a hard blow for Manager Jennings, as his staff, even at best, doesn't compare with, that of several other clubs In the league.

WHAT IS RHEUMATISM? WHY SUFFER FROM IT?
Sufferer. Should Realize That It Is a Blood Infection and Can Be Permanently Relieved. Rheumatism means that the blood has become saturated with uric acid poison. It does not require medical advice to know that good health is absolutely dependent upon pure blood. When the muscles and joints become sore and drawn with rheumatism, it Is not a wise thing to take a little salve and by rubbing it on the sore spot, expect to get rid of your rheumatics. You must go deeper than that down deep into the blood where the poison lurks and which is not effected by salves, and
ointments. It is important that you rid yourself of this terrible disease before it goes too far. S. S. S. is the blood purifier that has stood the test of time, having been in constant use for more than fifty years. It will do for you what it has done for thousands
of others, drive the rheumatic poisons out of your blood, making it pure and strong and enabling it to make you well. S. S. S. is guaranteed purely vegetable, it will do the work and not harm the most delicate stomach. Write the physician of this Company and let him advise with you. Advice is furnished without charge.
