Michigan City Mayor Jailed As Enemy Alien (By Associated Press) WASHINGTON', April 24. Frederick C. Miller, mayor of Michigan City, Ind., who came to Washington to ascertain the ' prospects of completing his naturalization, was held In Jail today as an enemy alien. Miller was arrested last night at the Instance of the department of justice for entering the District of Columbia, which Is barred to enemy aliens by presidential proclamation. Officials intimated, however, that there was no disposition to deal harshly with Miller and his release and departure from the district was expected within a few days.
