SHARP SET BACKS 111 CORN PRICES (By Associated Press) CHICAGO, April 12 Sharp set backs took place today In the price of corn at a result of generally accepted opinions that yesterday's swift advance had been excessive In extent. Probability of an Increase In the crop movement next week tended likewise to favor the bear side, and so too did the fact that hedging sales -are not limited to any specific amount. Opening prices, which varied from unchanged figures to 114 c lower, with May 127 and July 155 to 157, were followed by decided further losses In the July delivery. Fine weather and lack of an 'eastern outlet weakened oats. Besides, the downturn of the corn market had a bearish Influence. After opening H to lc lower, with May 85 to 86 U. prices continued to decline. Provisions sagged with grain and bogs trading was chiefly in? lard. GRAIN QUOTATIONS CHICAGO, April l2. The safeguarding of the German position in the east is primarily a Prussian interest, and therefore, Prussia must demand that the military interests should be decisive over all others. Dr. EssenHartruther, Prussian minister of agriculture, declared In the Prussian upper house on Tuesday, according to the Berliner Tageblatt. This statement is Interpreted by the Tageblatt as meaning that a very large section of Polish territory must be added to Prussia. It comments very strongly on the political consequences of such annexations, "which would drive the Poles politically into the arms of Russia and create in the. east for the Germans a permanent breeding center of political unrest, producing an irrendenta in our eastern provinces and a perpetual Polish danger."
