MURRAY Mary Miles Minter, whose elfin beauty and cleverness In emotional picture drama have made her famous, is receiving so many requests for signed portraits of her charming self that It is impossible to comply with all requests and equally impossible to ignore the immense popularity indicated.

As a result of the naval and military craze for Minter pictures, Miss Minter, now starred in a new American-Mutual drama, "Beauty and the Rogue," at the Murrette Monday and Tuesday, is having a photo-engraving made of her favorite picture with her signature attached. A certain proportion of her admirers at least will be delighted to find this inclosed in response to their pleadings. Tom Gilroy, cowboy on Colonel Aliso's ranch. New Mexico, is making a frantic effort to get married. He must find a mother for the orphaned five-year-old mascot of the ranch, Little Red. There are three marriageable women in the nearby town of rasltas two sDinsters and a widow.

One marrlnea nroDOSal of Tom's to a

spinster has already fallen flat. A pretty schoolmarm has turned him down, and the cowboys on Colonel Aliso's ranch are riding fence these d.va with Ion faces and mournful

hearts.

It all happens in Triangle's amusing

and amazing story of Western lire ana Chinese fidelity. "Little Red Decides,"

at the Murray Friday and Saturday,

published in the American magazine under the same title. Little Barbara Connoley plays the little role. WASHINGTON "Broken Ties" is the title of the new World-Picture Brady-Made which on Sunday will be shown at the Washington theatre. June Elvidge, Arthur Ashley and Montagu' Love are the stars of the production and the cast Is a notable one. Did you ever see eight stars in one picture? Then here's your chance, for when "The Volunteer," the new World-Picture Brady-Made comes to the Washington theatre on .Monday eight of the most famous stars of the day will be seen' in the production, flix of them assist Madge Evans and Henry Hull, the featured players in the production and these assisting stars are: Kitty Gordon. Ethel Clayton. June Elvidge, Evelyn Greeley,1 Montagu Love and Carlyle Blaclcwell. From the sun-beaten desert of Arizona to the snow-tipped mountains at ' Trueckee. Cal., is the contrast in the scenery offered by Douglas Fairbanks in his new Artcraft picture. "Headin' South," a rip-roaring tale of Mexican raiders, which will be the attraction at the Washington theatre on Wednesday and Thursday. The snow scenes are particularly effective after the

audience is shown a broad sweep of

the Mexican border, the desert lands of our country. MURRETTE The feature at the Murrette Theatre

Sunday is a beautiful story of romance! and adventure which tells the story of i a little girl, the daughter of a very rich ! man, kidnapped by gypsies and j brought up as one of them. It was, written by the youthful star herself j and has been given a careful and ar-j tlstic production in which beautiful j exterior scenes are noticeable, in ad-; ditlon to a cast of such excellence as : is seldom seen. "Runaway Romany" is a clean, beau- j tifully produced picture and an attrac-i

tion which the entire family will enJoy. Those who see Frank Keenan in "Loaded Dice" at the Murray Theatre Wednesday and Thursday would not believe their eyes If they saw him as the passengers of a transcontinental train saw him recently when he was on his way to the coast where his future pictures will be made. In the same sleeping car with the' famous actor was a tired mother with a very fretful and sickly baby. After

hours of crying on the part of the child finally it fell asleep and the wearied passengers settled themselves in their

oertns to get a little rest. But the

baby soon woke and with it the passengers. Sleep seemed out, of the

question as the mother could not quiet the child. Mr. Keenan raised his long

ngure irom nis Dertn and putting on his overcoat as a dressing gown stalked the length of the car to the berth which was the storm centre.

"pardon me, madam," he said, "but

I have had youngsters of my own. Perhaps I can fix the little one up." So with baby in his arms he promenaded the car aisle for a half hour or so. Then he took his little charge, by then soundly sleeping, to its mother and for the rest of the night everyone slept in peace.
