ZIMBALIST TO BE HERE NEXT
The remaining two numbers on the People's Music Course will be given in March and April. Evan Williams -will sing on some date between the nineteenth and twenty-third of April and Efram Zimbalist will give his violin recital March 18, as was announced. The People's Music Course mana
gers and Evan Williams decided it
would .be better to postpone his recital until warmer weather to obviate the danger of further disappointments and delays. Voice artists have been cancelling and postponing every place during this severe weather.
Zimbalist, who ranks as one of the
four greatest violin virtuosi in America, and is the husband of Alma Gluck, will give a most interesting recital here and music-lovers are anticipating it with great interest.
Revelations of a Wife
"MIGHTY GOOD OF YOU" The look in hiB made me drop mine again quickly.. Why, I could not explain even to myself.
"You look pale somehow, and your
eyes are strained as if you were worrying over something. Are the pupils more troublesome than usual this year?" I "The pupils?" I said inQuiringly. Then hastily, as I remembered that Jack supposed me still to be unmarried and teaching. "No, they are no worse than usual. 1 am perfectly all right, really, Jack. Tell me about yourself and your trip. I am dying to hear your adventures." The words were idle, foolish, but I could not stop to weigh them. All my faculties were centered on the problem how best to tell Jack that I was married. "Plenty of 'time for my adventures." Jack returned. "I'm going to hear all about you first. Hore we are. Place looks natural." "Yes, doesn't it? I haven't seen It 6!nce I dined here last with you." "Really?" He caught my hand in his as we went through the doors. "That was mighty good of you." I bad told him the truth. Broquin'e had always appealed to Jack and to me because it was quiet, offered excellent cuisine and service, and had never, succumbed to the cabaret dance craze,' which had taken possession of most of the New York restaurants. Its only music was that furnished by a really good orchestra of six pieces. The musicians evidently held the unusual view that thoir function was to provide a pleasant undertone to the table conversation, not to drown it. But Dicky liked the livelier places. He had never taken me to Broquln's; indeed, I never had beard him mention the place. The head waiter came toward us. Jack Indicated a corner table which we had always taken when we could get it at Broquln's. I liked the padded wall seats which Broquin's provided for those tables at the sides and corners of the big room. This particular table had the best position in the room. From it One could see everything that went on, while being out of the main rush. There could have ben no more ideal place for a quiet that. It was so early that only a few belated breakfasters were in the big hall. Later I knew all the tables would be crowded, for Broquln's made a specialty of Sunday mid-day dinners Jack forestalled the man who came hurrying up to help me off with my coat. I knew that he remembered I disliked having a waiter help me. As he removed the coat he looked quizzically at me. "Schoolma'amlng must be profitable this year," he remarked. "This outfit looks like ready money." J flushed in an embarrassed fashion. I was not yet ready to tell him that my gown and coat were part of my trouuseau. He had known of my very frugal expenditures for clothing in the past, years. No wonder he was surprised to see me wearing more costly thlnfis. The Wedding Ring Removed I sank into the padded seat and beyan to remove my gloves when I was confronted by a now proDlem. My wedding rln,r, guarded by my engagment solitaire, was upon the third fineer of my left hand. Jack would
be sure to see them if I kept them on. I told myself fiercely that I did not wish Jack to know I was married until after we had had his dinner together.
With my experionco of Dicky's Jealouny I had not much hope that Jack! and I would ever dine together in thlti j
fashion again. On the other hand, I had a strong aversion to removing my wedding ring even for an hour or. two. Besides being a silent falsehood, the act would eerm almost an omtn of evil. I am pot generally superstitious, but something made mo dread doing it. However. 1 had to choose quickly. I
must e!thr take off the rings or tell!
Jack at once that 1 was married. I
was not brave enough to do the latter. Taking my silvpr mesh bag from my muff. I opened it under the table and, quickly stripping off my gloves, removed my rings, tucked them into a corner of the bag and put gloves and bag back in my muff. Jack, manlike, had noticed nothing Now to keep the conversation in my own hands, so that Jack should suspect nothing until we had dined. Auto Show Opens at Indianapolis Next Week H. And the Tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity; It setteth on fire the course of nature, And it is set on fire of hell. James, Ch. Ill, v. 6,6. The above verse taken from scripture is the basic argument of the scenario prepared by the combined efforts of William Humphrey, and George E. Hall. It 1b a comprehensive verse, and while unquestionably has been taken as text for uncounted thousands of sermons, the dramatic possibilities reach their climatic heights in

"One Law for Both," the newest
photodramatic spectacle made under the direction of Ivan Abramson since
the showing of his last production, "Enlighten Thy Daughter," will be given its premiere at the Murrette
theatre Friday and Saturday. The presentation Is particularly timely, inasmuch as part of the story is located in Russia. It shows the conditions that obtained in the Darkest Empire immediately before the revolution which transformed the country into a republic and. In the light of events subsequent to the making of the picture, it may almost be said to have been prophetic. Ivan Abramson, the author and producer of the picture, was himself at one time an important operatic director and producer

Mae Marsh, star of the new Goldwyn picture, "Fields of Honor," from the story by Irvin S. Cobb in the Saturday Evening Post, and to be shown at the Washington theatre Friday and Saturday has the role of Marie Messereau, a little French girl struggling to support her ill sister and herself under most adverse conditions. LYRIC "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle" a new feature of vital interest, which has been prepared by Lois Weber and Phillips Smalley, will open a limited engagement at the Lyric theatre on Sunday and Monday. The new photodramatic masterpiece is described as a note worthy Lois Weber production, in six reels, dealing with a question of vital interest to humanity. Yet, it Is authoritatively stated that there is not one line or situation which could offend the most fastidious.
