Dear Mrs. Thompson: Will you ?lease publish ray questions and anwera, but kindly withhold my letter at explanation which I am enclosing? (1) Do you think I did wrong to eparate from my husband in the .'irst place? Should I continue to

live with him the rest of my life without his ever confessing he Is wrong? . (2) I have not

gone to church for

some time. Do you think I should return and do as before? I get little or no good. (3) Should I go and give him the child? HOPE. (1) No. you did not do wrong In leaving your husband in the first place. When a man is so cruel that he is danger-

Dur his wife should certainly leave dim. I think you bhould leave your husband again and go home to live with your father. Your soul and body will be enslaved living with him and putting up with the treatment you receive. In most cases I do not advise reparation, but with you I think it is different. (2) I do not think you should go to the church you have been attending, because you will only be unhappy there, but I do thtnk you need rhurch and If you leave your husband I would advise you to attend auother. (3) You have no reason to know that the child will receive kind treatment on ' the contrary you have every reason to think your husband will not be the right kind of a guide. Take your child with you. You and your parents can find some way to make a homo for him. You can find work to do and leave your child with your parents during the day. Dear Mrs. Thompson: 1) If a fellow takes a girl into a theatre who

should go in first, the boy or the girl? Does it make any difference where they sit? (2) If a boy takes a girl to a restaurant what should the girl order If the fellow doesn't say anything definite about the order? BLOCK HEAD. (1) The girl goes into the theatre first and chooses the place where 6he wishes to sit. If there is an usher she follows him to the seat he indicates. (2) It is here privilege to order whatever she thinks she would like. A thoughtful girl takes Into consideration the finances of the boy and does not order many or expensive things. Many people who do not want to spend a great deal order a club sandwich and a desert. The sandwich is large and a meal in itself. Dear Mrs. Thompson: (1 At my age, can you tell me where 1 can get work? I am fourteen years old and have quit school. (2) I have dark brown hair and green eye3. What color dress would you advise me to wear? BABY. (1) You might get a position as office girl in a doctor's or dentist's office or in a legal office, or you might do housework. It would be much better for you to take some place in a nice quiet household than to get into the commercial world while you are so young. (2) You ought to be able to wear browns and greens and yellows very well, however, it depends a good deal on your complexion. Dear Mrs. Thompson: I have fallen

in love with a very nice respectable young school teacher who is teaching a country school. He isn't such a well-to-do fellow, but he is decent and respectable. Would you please tell me how I can gain this young man's affection? BLUE EYES. There is an old saying, "Chase love and it will flee from thee. Flee love and it will follow thee." Forget .the

teacher until ho makes advances to

you.

THOUGHTS TO THINK ABOUT Giving to the world the best gets the best for self; doing good to some, brings the best from all-

No man can be wise and at the same time act the fool; you cannot think good sense and speak nonsense. that if she said anything more about old women turning into witches and killing young people in their sleep I would turn her over to the police and have her locked up as an insane pereon." "Where do you suppose she ever got such a notion?" Lillian shrugged her shoulders. "When you're as old as I am, my dear child, you'll cease to wonder at anything one of these foreign children doea or says. Don't you know that in certain sections of Europe they believe

just as firmly in black art and magic

and witchcraft as people did hundreds of years ago? They usually get it out of their systems after they have been aver here a few years, but it takes

i time."

We had dropped into chairs aa we talked. Lillian had rattled on so rap

I just dropped in to ask you " The opening of the outer door interrupted her. Dicky came in breezily. "Helio, Lll! Haven't seen you since Sunday night. Where have you been keeping yourself?" He held out a cordial hand to her, then turned to me and kissed me. "Well, professor." he said. "I suppose you're in the plutocrat class now?" Mrs. Underwood looked puzzled. I hastened to explain. "Dicky is talking nonsense, as usual," I smiled at him. "Perhaps you remember I had an offer from the Lotus Study Club to conduct a history class. I met the secretary this afternoon and arranged terms." "How delightful!" Lillian exclaimed. "What did you hold the old girl up for?" Dicky asked. I thought I detected a sneer in his voice. I knew he hated the idea of my doing anything

Revelations of a Wife

HOW LIL "SETTLED" KATIE "She told you then?" "About Dicky-bird's mother coming into the nest? Oh, yes, she poured out her whole soul to me." Lillian laughed. "You see. when Dicky and the rest of the bunch had that apartment several years ago they advertised for a general houseworker. Katie answered the advertisement. Green! You never saw anything so verdant in your life. If I hadn't taken pity on both the boys and her I don't know what would have become of any of them. She didn't know enough to boil water. I used to straighten things out tor her, and teach her a few things, and she wa. grateful and everlastingly afraid of me. I think the gratitude has rather worn eff, but she's still afraid of me." "She told me she was going to leave when the older Mrs. Graham arrived,"

I said. "Bui Bhe won't do it." Lillian said complacently, "that is, unless you want her to. I settled that, I fancy." "Whatever did yon say to her?" "Oh, just generally frightened, her!" she replied carelessly. "I think I put on the finishing touches by telling her
