We see the cabaret performers performing on ice skates on a large expanse of natural ice in the middle of the floor. Couldn't Live Without Father; Kills Himself SHELBYVILLE, Ind., Jan. 30. George Swango, 44 years old, committed suicide at his home here today by firing a bullet from a revolver through his head. The body was found by a neighbor woman. He was despondent over the recent death of his father and told friends that he "had nothing more to live for." Swango and his father were Inseparable companions. No near relatives survive. The coroner found $186 in Swango's pockets. 20 New Students Enroll for Second Term at Miami OXFORD, O., Jan. 30. The second semester at Miami University opened yesterday with the enrollment of twenty new students. Miss Helen J. Woodley, critic instructor in Teachers College, has resigned to -attend Columbia University, and will be succeeded by Miss Aliene JBrown, of New York. Prof. Arthur Loren Gates, head of the department of public speaking, has resumed work after Sabbatical leave of half a year. Eight member of the freshman class have been dismissed on account of poor scholarship. President Jl. M. Hughes, formerly professor of chemistry, announced today that he would take over a part of the work of Dr. James E. Egan, professor of chemistry, recently resigned. v The largest order ever placed for postage sumps has Just been given by the New York postofflce. The order Is for 310.202,320 stamps, valued at $8,193,705.26, which would make a strip 5,200 miles long.
