Charles Wilson, was horn near Jacksonliurg. Ind.. June 1. 1S42. After her marriage she lived at Dublin, Tnd.. with her parents, who were both Invalids and needed her care. She was the voungeat of thirteen children. One brother and one sister survive her. Four of her brothers were soldiers. One of them a major. She grow up in mi atmosphere of patriotism and was alad to give her younger son. Scott, to tha service of his country. SIio was he mother of two sons Paul and S.'ott. nd two daughters, Miriam, now Mrs. Miles of Ft. Wavne. and Miss Rui.v. She was an Ideal mother and wife. Her home was her realm over which she presided with queenly grace and dignity. She became a member of the Christian church at the age of 15 and continued to the end a faithful and devout Christian. For the last 27 years her home ha been in Richmond. After a brief Illness she passed away Jsnuarv 7. Private funeral services were held at the home 113 South 13th St . Heat one tablespoon butter substitute in frying pan, add sliced carrots, salt and pepper, and one tablespoon flour over top of carrots; cover closely to keep steam. Add a little water from time to time to keep them' from burning. Fry slowly about half hour. Frying carrots this way they keep their original sweet flavor. They are one of the most healthful of vegetables. Sour Milk Cake (very good) One and one-half cups flour, butter size of walnut, one egg, one cup sugar, one cup sour milk, lemon flavor. . Very fine with nut meats chopped and added. Cereal Loaf (for meatless day) Two cups lima beans, one cup oatmeal, one-third . cup peanut butter, one-half cup water that rice has been boile'd in, two tablespoons minced onion, one tablespoon poultry seasoning, salt to taste, one slightly beaten egg. Soak lima beans over night; next morning drain, add water and boil until soft. Then put through food chopper. Add other ingredients and shape into a loaf. Place in pan in which one tablespoon drippings has been melted. Bake thirty minutes in moderate oven. Baste while baking. If too soft to shape, add bread crumbs. Potato Pancakes (for meatless day) Pare, wash and grate (raw) eight large potatoes. Put back in pan and

Beat well and fry like any griddle cakes. Must be cooked slowly until a golden brown. Takes quite a while to fry them. Economy Meat Dish One pound oatmeal cooked on top of stove until done. In another saucepan put one-half pound pork, one pound beef with water fyj cover; when cooked take out meat and grind ; replace in broth,' add salt to taste and oatmeal. Cook a few minutes longer. When cold slice and fry. Macaroni, Sausage and Fried Apples -Two cups macaroni, one cup milk, one pound sausage, one tablespoon margarine, three apples, salt and pepper to taste. Place in buttered baking dish, add milk and margarine and put on a slow fire on back of stove, allowing it to get hot Fry sausages, then fry sliced apples In sausage fat. Squash Pudding Mix one-half cup sugar, one and one-quarter teaspoons salt, one teaspoon cinnamon; add two and one-quarters cups steamed squash, yolk of two eggs beaten, two and onequarter cups hot milk; then add whites of two eggs beaten stiff. Turn Into buttered pudding dish and bake in moderate oven until firm. Coeoanut Dainty One cup cocoanut, one cup oatmeal, one egge. one-quarter cup milk.
