SNOW STORM HELPS ITALY
(By Associated Frees) Snow faas coma to. the aid ot th Italians and the Austre-Owmaa of tensive apparently has reached a halt it not an end. The whole mountain front hw the enemy had been making slight but steady gains. Is buried under from three to five feet ot snow making Infantry operations Impossible and hampering the Austro-Qorman supply lines seriously. Heavy snowfalls in the Alps are re ported to have blocked the enemy communication system in the Trentine and Cannae leaving them Only two long lines across tho Venetian plains to the Plave which would be ot no help to the snowbound troops be tween Lake Oarda and the Plave, The enemy troops on the eastern bank of the Plave are not troubled so greatly by the snow but previous efforts to cross the rivor in force have failed. The bombardment on the northern front has slackened with the com ing of the long. expected snow and only patrol engagements have 'occurred. It Is Indicated that the enemy will be unable to begin operations In an effort to complete his conquest ot Vent tia while his supply lines are enow-bound.
