STAR TAKES RAP AT DR. WAMPLER

Tbe following communication and its answer appeared in the Sunday Indianapolis Star: To the Editor of The Star: The story printed in Thursday's Star does a great injustice to George H. KnoUenberg, the leading dry goods dealer of this city. Any intimation that he is a disloyalist to the flag is an untrue statement.. A man's loyalty to his flag is exhibited mainly in his loyalty to his neighbor and to the community in which he lives. No person In this community, during the thirty-seven years of my residence here, has excelled or shown a more material Interest toward his neighbor or toward this community. There are those in every community who make it their business to work

out all that Is possible toward their selfish gains and their personal ag

grandizement, regardless of their neighbors' rights or sense of fairness to

ward a neighbor, and who in an hour of national trial are ever responsive

to an opportunity to declare them' selves and their loyalty to the flag.

George H. KnoUenberg does not be

long to that class and It is not essen

tial In this community that he declare himself for America, because in all

his acts and life here he has shown fully that he is as true an American

testimonial like this In favor of Mr.

KnoUenberg, and Indeed the article in question contained much similar expression; but the contributor's proposal that demonstrations of the kind which occurred in Richmond must be suppressed by the press or else denounced as unfair is preposterous and contemptible. The article sets forth what had happened and gave Mr. Knollenberg the benefit of praise for his character and popularity. It was perfectly fair, and the correspondent'3 complaint is ridiculous. If there were not a limit on how many War-Savings Stamps one man might buy, the financiers would leave precious few for the small fry-

The proof is at your very door. The following is an experience typical of the work of Doan's Kidney Pills in Richmond. Mrs. O. L.. Fisher. 424 West Main street, Richmond, gave the following statement in September, 1915: ' I know Doan's Kidney Pills are a splendid remedy for kidney trouble; they have certainly done a lot for me. I suffered continually from pains in my back and could get no rest day or night. The medicine I was using didn't help me and when a friend advised me to try Doan's Kidney Pills, they benefited me right away. The aches and pains in my back were relieved and so were the other symptoms of kidney trouble." Price 60c, at all dealers. Don't simply ask for a kidney remedy get Doan's Kidney Pills the same that Mrs. Fisher had. Foster-Milhurn Co., Mfgrs., Buffalo, N. Y.
