MAY BE ACTION Now that Jess Willard declares he Is ready to return to the fight game there will be perhaps less howling afhong the other heavies. For some while Jess has been receiving challenges from everyone in the class. Willard's idea is to perform in a Red Cross benefit and he stipulates that every cent of the entertainment's receipts shall be turned over. He declares that he will train at his own expense and that he v.ill not expect th least remuneration whatsoever. Just bow much of a hit this will make with some of those who have been most eager to meet the champ is yet to be seen. Fred Fiilton, Bill Brennan, Billy Miske and Kid Norwood the dark demon, seem to be the boldest of Willard's challengers. These have told the public that Willard knows they ought to have his crown and that if he isn't going to fight any more he should at least give them the chance to show they can make him look foolish. Willard is known to have been in rot the best fighting trim for some fwhile and reports of his weight have varied from 280 pounds to nigh 400. Recently Willard came to bat with the hint that he has been in secret training for some while and that he no longer bears a clost resemblance to a mammoth or other type of prehistoric fauna. If Willard is in any condition at all he will probably go through any bout that is framed up for him without being greatly molested. Fred Fulton is possibly his most dangerous rival, but the danger is slight. It must be ad mitted, however, that Fulton has the best claim on Willard's attention. Fulton has fought every heavy of any importance and has knocked out a big part of them. Fulton seems to be the bestjmatch for Willard in size, as he

Willard is likely to have an advantage of some forty i pounds since Fulton's best weight is 220 and Jess is not likely to do better than 200.
