Kolp't Christmas dance next Tuesday evening will start the Yuletide festivities In this city. The dance will be given at the I. O. O. F. hall with the Kolp orchestra furnishing music Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kolafwho have been giving dances hereHll winter, expect to make this the largest and best of the year. chestra will furnish mosie during the evening. Besides dancing there will be cards and informal social time in the parlors of the club. Thursday evening members of the former Beta Phi Sigma fraternity will give a Red Cross ball in the I. O. O. F. hall. A number of visiting brothers from nearby cities are expected to be present at this dance. Tickets can be obtained from Horatio Land. Clarence Coyle, Vergil Raines and Howard Ball, the committee in charge of the dance. The balcony will be open to spectators, a small admission charged for seats. Members of the Delta Theta Tau sorority will give a formal dinnerdance at the Weetcott hotel Friday evening. Men friends of the members will be . guests. . A number of out of town girls from chapters near here will be present. The Weisbrod orchestra will furnish the music. A dinner dance will be given Saturday evening at the Country club for Its members. Dinner will be served at :30 o'clock with dancing immediately afterward. Kolp's orchestra will furnish the music. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kolp will give a New Year's dance and watch party at the I. O. O. F. hall, December 31. Their orchestra will furnish music for the evening. . A celebration at midnight will be the feature of the evening. There will be open house at the Country Club New Year's day. Dancing, cards, and a general good time will occupy the day. All members of the club are Invited to call during the day. The Delta Theta Tau sorority held a business meeting last evening at the
home of Miss Miriam Morgan, nans for initiation were made and the dinner dance to be given December 28 was discussed. The five pledges, Miss Hazel Mashmeyer. Miss Carolyn Rodefeld. Flora Parks. Miss Catherine Eliott and Miss Flora Parks, were present Members present were Miss Morgan, Miss Dorothy Clark, Miss Mildred Townsend. Miss Mary Parks, Miss Elizabeth Casey, Miss Ruth Edgerton. Miss Mary Foley and Miss Vera Dally. . Miss Hazel Henderson who is attending Mrs. Blaker's Kindergarten school at Indianapolis, is here to spend the Christmas vacation with l.er parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Pinnick and son, Nathan, will go to Cleveland, O., to spend Christmas with Mrs. Pinnkk's sister, Mrs. T. A. Dudley. Miss Mae Griffin of Indianapolis will come tomorrow to spend the holidays with her father, Dan Griffin and sisters. The marriage of Miss Mary Hinkle of Middletown; O.', and Orel Erk. son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Erk of this city, will be solemnized tomorrow at the home of the bride. Mr. Erk, formerly a Richmond man, is connected with the American MJlls of Middletown, O. Miss Hinkle taught school at that place. Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Erk of 400 West Main street, have gone to Middletown to attend the wedding... . Misses Helen and Miriam Hadley have gone to Seymour to spend Christmas week with friends and relatives. They will take part this evening in a benefit concert at the Presbyterian church In that place. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Furstenberger "are entertaining William Kinsey, singing evangelist, at their home during the evangelistic meetings at the Whitewater Friends church. Miss Lucile Haner who attends the Cincinnati Conservatory of Musio in Cincinnati, O., is tiome to spend the vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Haner. Circle No. 1 of the First Methodist church will have an apron sale tomorrow in the wall paper store at 1022 " Main street. Other useful Christmas gifts will also be on sale. " June Gayle, a student in Miami university. Is here to spend his vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gayle at their home, 204 South Sixteenth street. ' Sam Steinberger of Indianapolis . will spend the Christmas holidays with his daughter, Mrs. Alvin Fox, at her home, 21 South Eighteenth street. Harry Butler or Marion, has arrived here to be the holiday guest of his
mother. Mrs. Otis Newlin, at her home west of Richmond. Mr. and Mrs. Newlin will entertain Mr. and Mrs. Fred Moore and son, Lowell, at their home Christmas day, .. Miss Jessie Mendenhall. who has been teaching school in Spencer high school, arrived today to spend, the Christmas vacation with relatives. .

Chairman, Miss "Mary 'Ann; Stubbs, Mrs. Henry Mather and Mrs. Edwin Crawford. Mrs. A. W. Roach gave a paper on "The Daily, Routine In the Home," followed by a short discussion. Mrs. Roach also gave an interesting account of the - recent War Council held In Indianapolis last week. She told of the emphasis that was put on conservation of food in homes. Mrs. Emll Levy and son Clarence, of Bay City, Mich., will come tomorrow to spend several days with Mr. and Mrs. George Fox. . ' Mrs. Jeanette Wilson, teacher, and Mrs. Belle Harris, assistant teacher, entertained - members of the Loyal Daughters class of the First Christian church last evening at the home of the former. The house was decorated with a profusion of ; green and red decorations and lighted by the dim lights of red and white tapers and green bayberry candles. Games played by the candle light furnished much fun during the evening. Refreshments in Christmas -colors were served by the hostesses. Both teachers were presented with Christmas remembrances from the class.
