PLAYS COVINGTON FIVE SATURDAY Coach Schwan Will Take Eight Men on Invasion of Kentucky. 'The "Y" first leather tossers go to Covington, Ky., Saturday to meet the Covington "Y" basketball team of that place. The Covington Puritan "Y" team is one of tho strongest "Y" teams in the basketball field. The members of the Covington team have been playing together for four years without a change in their lineup. According to Coach Schwan the Uichmond Y. M. C. A. team will hold two practices this week before going in rrtvtnetnn. The team has not been
' practicing for. some time because of sore arms gained 'through vacinnation, and owing to this fact may not be in the best form but otherwise the team will have no handicaps. Practice will be held Wednesday and Thursday night. Eight Men To Go. Eight men will be taken to CovingIon. They are Russell Parker, center, Al Mayer. Kennedy and Monroe, guards, C. Porter, E. Porter and Bulah. The Y. M. C. A. schedule which was announced some time ago, has recently been changed owing to cancellation of some of the games by the "Y" since the men were vacinnated. The schedule is as follows: Dec. 21 Covington Puritan T at Covington. Jan. 5 Covington Puritan "Y" at Richmond. Jan. 12 Hamilton at Hamilton. Jan. 19 Hamilton at Richmond. ' Jan. 26 Fairview Athletic club at Falmouth, Ind. Hagerstown Quintet to Play Cambridge HAGERSTOWN, Dec. 19. There will be a basketball game here Friday night between the Hagerstown high school team and the Cambridge City high school team. The Hagerstown line-up will be as follows: Doyl Holiday and George Leavell, forwards; Robert Gray, center; Floyd Hunt and Paul Wiegand, guards. The curtain raiser will be played by the following Ktrls: Lola Duggins, Helen Stahr, Bessie Jones, Sylva Root, Louise Howrr, Esther Pitts. Elnora Brandt, Neva Souders. Mildred Hays, Lavern Thornburgh, Mildred Lontz. Greb Wins All Rounds In Clash With Christie CLVC fNNATr,'Dec.w19. Haf ry Greb. Pittsburgh, won every round of a twelve-round bout from Gus Christie of Milwaukee here last night and took the referee's decision. They fought at catch weights. A large crowd was on hand for the bout. Frank Mills was referee and handled the bout3 in fine style. Sam Murbarger was behind Christie, while .Jimmy Mason looked after the interests of the tar from out east, who has fought forty battle or more this year without , assimilating much punishment.

15,000 GUARDS WANTED BY ARMY
Men who have seen service in some branch of the Army or Navy are wanted in the United States guards Fifteen thousand men are wanted. The enlistment for the guard work will be for the period of the emergency only. The guards will not serve outside of the United States but will guard public utilities. All branches of the Army are now open, says Sergeant Wright of the Richmond Army recruiting office. Chief Gunners Mate Goldfarb said Tuesday many sailors would receive furloughs during Christmas. Howard Snyder joined the Navy Tuesday at the Richmond recruiting office.
