H. laerman-will entertain informally Thursday afternoon at her home in compliment to Miss Lillian Shannon who will be married soon. Section 1 of the Women and Pastor's Union of Grace M. E. church will have no meeting this week because of the continuauce of the bazaar this week in the Westcott room on North Tenth street. The Green Briar, community club
will hold an all day meeting Wednes. day at the home of Mrs. E. II. Wilson on the National road west. Women who are unable to come for the whole day are urged to come in the afternoon. The day will be spent in sewing for the Red Cross.
Names of nine soldiers who have no relatives and are deserving of Christmas packages have been received by Mrs. William H. Keisker from L. M. Learner at Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, Miss. Women who desire to send these boys any gifts are requested to call her at 1594. Mrs. George M. Chrlsman has had culls for two sweaters for Richmond boys and has been unable to supply them. Persons having sweaters either for the army or navy are asked to call Mrs. Chrlsman, 2028, so that she may obtain them and 6end them to these boys who, as yet, have no sweaters. ' Circle No. 1 of First Presbyterian church will not meet tomorrow as aLnounced Saturday. This circle will hold no more meetings until some time in January. Thomas Maekoly entered a plea of guilty Monday in the Wayne county circuit court. He was charged with finding $40 that belonged to Amanea Bayer and spending it but owing to the fact that he had paid the money back the court let him go on his own recognizance.
