Here Is a letter Billy recently wrote from Atlanta, Ga., where he is conducting a revival, to a Chicago editor: Thre is no city in the United States that gets tangled up in my heart strings like dear old Chicago. I love her people, I love her streets. I love her buildings. They look like home to me. I love her grime, I love her push and vim. She typifies in every way her motto: 'I will.1 "Chicago was the first large city I had ever seen the city that gave me my start. There is where I broke into the big league. There Is where I found and accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. There Is where I mpt and married Nell Thompson. There is where our four children were born, and there is where a multitude of my most loyal friends live. "And there is where I expect to be awakened by the resurrecting angel and go home to heaven from Chicago. So, is there any wonder I am looking forward with the keenest anticipation to the coming campaign. I know the people of Chicago will go the limit and 'go over the top' in untold thousands, for there is nothing little about them. They are big in their sympathy, and big in their patriotism, and like the White Sox, who brought home the world's championship flag, I know the Christian forces will win the championship for God, home, and.native land."

Front in France.

Th3 lines of the Star Spangled Banner which have "bombs bursting in air" might well be illustrated by this remarkable photo token in France at one of the American schools near the front. The men here getting final instructions before taking up their places in the battle line are Incomfortably close to real action.

Reason for Seif-Confldence. Self-confidence is really based primarily upon one's consciousness of his own powers or of his deficiencies. A clear understanding of this fact will help to simplify the problem. It is perfectly clear, for instance, that the man who is poorly educated, who has neglected his opportunities, who is undisciplined, who lacks .self -restraint, who is truly incompetent In practically all directions, and who is at the same time conscious of his deficiencies, cannot expect to enjoy any degree of selfconfldence. The enlistment of the youngest son of the secretary of the treasury, Robert H. McAdoo, In the United State navy reserves puts the last of the McAdoo boys in Uncle Sam's service. Robert recently left school to join the navy. The photograph was taken on the south steps of the treasury building and shows father McAdoo sizing up his son's uniform.

The other two sons are In the eea branch of the service, too, William G-, Jr., training for the aviation section of the navy, and Francis H., chasing submarines with his fast motor boat "Adroit," which ha has given the government. Mrs. McAdoo is as busy as her sons. She is in the ranks of the food administration.
