Entire State Struck by Worst Blizzard in Many Years
The entire state of Indiana is still In I he .'grip of the first blizzard of the winter. Predictions from the United slates weather bureau say that zero vcather will remain for the next two ji- three days. The following dispatches show how 'he ten)Prature moved In Indiana. TWELVE BELOW HERE. HLOOMIXOTON, Dec. 10. Government thermometers registered twelve jolow zero at 7 o'clock in the morning. Many smaller thermometers registered sixteen below. MUCH SUFFERING AT WABASH WABASH, Dec. 10. This city was held In the grip of the worst blizzard ever known here and the temperature fell to from ten to twelve below zero. Because bf the shortabe of coal there was severe suffering and the supply on hand was delivered during the day to those "whose needs were greatest. Many homes and business houses were flooded due to bursting water pipes. COLDEST EVER IN POCKET EVANSVILLE, Dec. 10. Evansville and southern Indiana continued to feel the grip of he severe blizzard. Snow fell In the afternoon and wind blew at a high velocity. The present weather is the coldest Evansville has witnessed for many years. Many calls for help have been received by the associated charities and the township trustee. MANY SUFFERING LAFAYETTE. Dec. 10. Many families here are out of coal and it is believed that.there Is much suffering as a result. Many churches did not hold services Sunday night due to the extreme cold and the high velocity of the winds. The temperature fell to eix below zero. -
