Fritz Kreisler Barred From Capital by Orders of Mayor
INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 21. Mayor Bell took his trusty pen in hand yesterday and . Down came Fritz Kreisler's meathouse. That celebrated violinist and notable officer in the Austrian Army will not play at the Murat Theatre the evening of Dec. 3 not at the Murat Theatre or anywhere else on Dec. 3
or any other date. Indianapolis is officially off Capt. Kreisler's tour and those who want to hear him will have to go to Mayor Wilhelm Thompson's town or seme other city whero people don't care how they spend their money. Mayor Bell's pronunciamento came at the same time that Ona B. Talbot,
under whose auspices Capt. KreiBler
was to come to Indianapolis, was In the East endeavoring to cancel the contract. Mrs. Talbot left for New York last week to make the arrangements and last evening was believod to be in conference with C. A. Ellis of Boston, Kreisler's manager.- " Telegrams to her, both in New . York and Boston, failed to reach her. Control Over Theater. The official decision by Mayor Bell that Kreisler may not play here was in the form of a letter to Mrs. Talbott in which Mr. Bell declared that, as all public auditoriums are licensed by the city, the authorities have ample power to prevent the concert. He said that he will notify the Murat Theatre man

Preparations were also made to present the question to the Matinee Musicale yesterday afternoon, but the subject was not brought up when it was learned that Mayor Bell had interfered.
